Hopefully all the issues you mentioned will be non-existent in the up coming The Old Republic. That is probably the only MMO game I really am excited for
Given that Bioware has been exceptionally silent about everything but the fact that there's a lot of dialogue, i wouldn't get my hopes up on that game.

Well thanks for you're opinon but was that suppose to sway me away from playing the game or were you just venting? Granted the WoW community is a bit childish but it's easy to hide behind a character's face. Especially when you're character is a level 80 with bigger muscles then Chris Redfield (It's a close call.)

Yes. It will be completely different from every other MMORPG. Also, BioWare will pay you to play, the disc will be made of gold and, as you play, you will be sent hookers intermittently that have been trained to ensure you get "exercise" without blocking the screen.

Or, maybe just a little bit more realistically, they'll have slightly nicer sword fighting animations than guild wars. Enjoy finding Darth Quest'givar's landspeeder keys that he accidentally dropped into the Rancor pit...

Note - I WILL enjoy it. I'm playing it no matter how muchlike every other MMORPG it ends up being! Then again, I'm one of these people that doesn't play WoW wrong, so I'll probably enjoy it :)

I started just after Battlemasters were introduced in the capitals, but I've been told the stories of everyone queuing up in Hillsbrad, and the wholesale slaughter of everyone trying to quest. I think the Candlemass quests are now the worst time to try and level through there. It's also fun watching town raids break-up when someone starts DKing.
it's unfortunate that hillsbrad happened to be a lvl 30 PVE zone, but every so often you'd get two massive teams of 60s fighting over the zone. it was like AV, only in a smaller area, with everyone focused on the same goal and no finite duration.

last time i was there, there were only random gankers, which made it just as hard to level without the benefit of awesome PVP. not to mention that buffing all the guards ruined certain quests. (helcular's revenge)

Also - can't Bubble and Hearth be macro'd?
yes but then the joke wouldn't have worked.

I played WoW pre-BC to lv 60, then played through TBC, took a break, got back into it during WotLK and reached level 80. I raided Naxx and helped downed KP. I had fun with the game but its not the same game anymore, its becoming too watered down for my taste and people are more concerned with reaching lv 80 than the journey to 80. I had a good time with the game but those days are gone and its time to move on.

I don't think these 11m people are wrong, they just have different tastes.

This.

The original argument is stupid: if you don't like it, leave it alone. It's not like only because it's the best MMORPG on the market you can't play something else. I quit it, but I still don't think the game is bad: it wasn't just right for me.

I don't like WoW either, the people are jerks, and I just don't have that kind of money.

WoW like many things in life is good in moderation. I've played the game since vanilla and yes it indeed does get boring. But when that happens I know it's time for me to cancel my sub, set the game down for a few months and go enjoy other things. I'm in one of those breaks right now actually. Was in a top guild on my server pushing 25 man hard modes in Ulduar. Game stared to become boring. Eventually I started to feel like I *had* to long on, not log on because I *wanted* to. Sub was cancelled the same week and I'm enjoying my new found free time =)

WoW's definitely not medicore though. Sure it's not perfect and other mmo's do certain things better but non of them cover as many things as WoW does AND does them as well as WoW does

I'm sorry I guess I left some important bits out: I stopped playing WoW back in January and I currently play something different. I feel what the game has become isn't for me anymore, but I did have fun with the game prior to all the changes.

I played WoW for three years straight and quit about 4 months ago because it became as some have said before me, too watered down from what it used to be. I had some great fun pre-WOTLK and met some great people who im still in contact with regularly.

Thing is WoW is (in my modest opinion) the best as an MMO can get since it hits all the keypoints; there's something for everyone. Allthough i think new players might be abit easily scared of the seemingly high level cap of 80.

So overall i'd say it was definitly worth my money while it lasted.

I might have enjoyed WoW if I didn't need to spend so much money to play it. You can get an extraordinarily higher amount of value and fun on Xbox Live, or PlayStation Network. Because PSN is free.

WoW is just a grinding average mess.

Never really understood the "WoW is too expensive" argument. There is so much content in that game that it's easily worth the monthly fee. I've been playing WoW for about 3 years now, and at no point could I claim that I'd seen everything in the game.

I have a bad experiences with online gaming in general. Every time I play something I'm either stuck with the 12 year olds who think it's cute to call everyone a n***er or the guys that are waaaaaayyyy to into it. However I understand why people like it. The few times that online gaming was fun it was REALLY fun. GTAIV online has been my favorite game to play because of the free mode play where you can just run around with friends and goof off without some kid trying to, God I hate saying this, pwn you.

As far as WoW, I tried it and it was not my thing. But I have several friends that are into it and that's cool as well. About 11 million people being wrong well... I guess at one time more people than that thought that the Earth was flat and at the center of the Universe. :/

So if what you're saying is true, paying, on average, over a couple hundred dollars on a massive game is worth it, running all over this huge ass game land bringing people shit and killing things and trading stuff is worth it?

To answer the question: no becuase its a game that is based around your prefrence and playing style your servers do a bit ot change your experience also wiht waht faction your with getting to 80 can be a let down when your not geared for raids but that goes along with if you want to do raids while others like myself are in it for roleplaying and enjoying ourselves

Yup, in comparison for a 50-80 game in which you run around and kill shit and yet will at most play twice before the next 'big release' comes out again, costing 50-80 in whatever currency you use. Which is, usually a month or two apart from the last ;)

You just managed to list every reason I quit after the fourth day of the Free Ten Day Trial.

But if someone likes MMO's, and chooses to play them, then that doesn't make them wrong or right. That's just what they like.
