Incidentally, #3 is just how RPG's work, if you can't handle the idea of levels and classes then that genre is definitely not for you. Even Pokémon has them.

Oh no you Didn't!!! You leave Pokemon out of this! Pokemon does not need to be compared to World of **** Warcraft! Pokemon has lived a good life and given us all a colorful, fun filled experienced that will remain in our hearts for many decades to come.
And there are people that play it competitively, found what the optimal teams to use, what's bad, what's good and found out how to make the most out of a single pokemon by EV training and breeding. Just wondering if you're aware of this.

OT: Considering the OP has made a previous post bashing WoW (And other games), I'm going to assume he's either trolling because he doesn't really put up any decent arguments or he can't get past on how much he hates WoW and needs to inform us of that.
Absolutely True. But that's down to those addicted gamers again taking things a little too bloody seriously and making us humans look bad. Pokemon was doing fine and still is on a less impactual level but there's always souless masses of people that cant let a game just be a game. Just unfortunate WoW has over 10 million of them.

Good Point but nobody elses fault but the ones who dangle the carrot and the idiots that follow it for 6 years. And Pokemon were not even trying. =) They're just so damn f***ing cute!
I wouldn't say all competitive players are people that don't know how to have fun or "soulless masses" that takes things too seriously. Being a competitive player means you want a little extra challenge for whatever reason (and the satisfaction of winning). Also, having played WoW for a little bit, I find the generalization that all WoW players are dickheads to be exaggerated. Considering I was on the side that was known to have the most little kids and dickheads, there are some decent people and unjustified rage is not as common as you think it is.
Sounds Fair. I was a Horde player myself but still had alot of bad experiences with idiots, eventually it drove me to quit before any damage was done but I remain a little bitter about it as you noticed. The game was good. I enjoyed -playing- but as always, other people get to spoil it for others while big industries rub their hands together and cackle at the profit they make from such people.
I just Like Pokemon for what it WAS thats all. 150 fun looking monsters that slap eachother around. You touched a nerve by comparing 'em matey.

1. Be patient or don't raid.
2. That's just a bad guild leader. Change guilds. it is not hard to find a new one that will want people.
3. Everything in the world is based off of numbers. And any class can beat any other class.
4. Grind is the definition for MMO really.
5. If they added new stats, it'd be confusing and useless.

I don't think MMOs are for you.

#1. Patience is a virtue. I stick to smaller raids, personally, with my close friends because it's both faster, funner, and we just work better than 20 people I'm not too familiar with and another 5 that I'm tightly knit with.

#2. That's a bad guild. Make your own guild with your friends, maybe players you keep running into online, or real world friends. Not sure if you have any real world friends that play? Ask on facebook or at work or something. I can probably count 20 people I see at least once a month who play WoW.

#3. RPG's are numbers games. That's it. Go play an FPS if you don't like RPG's (even though it's an MMO, it's still an RPG). Even then, maybe it's not "hard" but it can be all about choosing the right abilities at the right time, with the right combination to overtake an enemy. I was questing solo one night recently and this orc hunter attacked me. It was close (I'm a human knight, tank mainly) but I killed her, just barely (damn pets man...). So I win and I eat and continue on my merry way when not even a minute later she catches up to me and attacks me again, but this time she wins. I was a level or two above, but if it's all just "stats", then I should have won again, but she changed her strategy and bested me. I'm sure if I had found her again it would have been anyones game.

#4. Again, that's MMO's for you. Name me an MMO that doesn't have grinding and I'll name you 50 that do. If you play with friends though, doing instances, it doesn't feel so much like grinding.

#5. They upgrade it to balance the game. I would HATE it if the game was never updated. That would be a dreadful mess. Have you ever bought a game that was 2 years old or so and popped it in, expecting an update and you didn't get one? No, that game isn't perfect, they just don't know all the bugs and they haven't given enough of a care to deal with any of them that remain. Now picture a game where there's millions of players, you can't have them all just using the same strategy, you have to rebalance the game. When you add more content, you need to then rebalance it after you see how it's received by the players, and then rebalance all the previous content as well to deal with the new. I actually feel bad for Blizzard, it must be an endless battle.

No one claimed WoW was "hard", no one said it's the Ninja Gaiden of the MMO industry, so I'm not sure why you are treating it as such.

Whoah, hey, don't get me wrong, I love Pokémon! I got Yellow for my 5th birthday! And shortly thereafter it was 'borrowed' buy someone I never saw again.

That sounds embittered but I really do like Pokémon, I still play the games now. It's just that it is based on numbers. HP, PP, EXP, Stats, all that contributes to the mechanics of the game. Have you seen the formula for how it decides whether your Pokéball holds closed or not? That shit's damn near incoherent!

All is forgiven! I'm just sensitive when it comes to Pokemon and WoO xD My Pokemon Blue was stolen from me less than a month after getting it for my birthday...
