For me, it would have to be when I finally got all the Super Emeralds in Sonic 3 & Knuckles and beheld the god-like awesomeness that was Hyper Sonic.
I got a WHOAH moment when I played Doom on my parents pc and my father had installed a sound card (Sound Blaster 2 I believe, heh). Damn, I spent almost all the night shotgunning monsters.
Another -oldie- whoah moment was with Dune 2. The first RTS game (?) and what really astounded me was that the music would change when you were under attack. That was awesome! Same with Team Fortress 2: all the classes yell certain things that make sense ingame. Fun every single time.
