WoW or LOTRO? Which should I play?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help out with my problem. Like the title suggests, I'm having difficulty deciding between World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings online. (I'm paying for college right now, so it's one or the other.)
In WoW I'm a level 51 warlock, and in LOTRO I'm in the middle of my free ten day trial, yet my WoW subscription will end soon, so I'm at a critical juncture.
I find both games to be great fun in different ways, though currently in WoW it seems no one wants to do the "old world" content, and I'm afraid the same will apply to Outland and Northrend when I get there. And in LOTRO I haven't gotten far enough into the game to experience any problems yet.
Any and all help or advice as to whether I defend Azeroth or Middle Earth would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do you want to play the game after you reach level cap, or do you want to play the game while you reach level cap?

WoW: The game really doesn't start until you reach max level. Reputation grinds, heroic dungeons, raiding. Any content before Northrend is going to be a ghost-town.

LOTRO: The game is meant to be played and leveling is just something that happens along the way. You will find people in most every level range to participate with. The game has an overarching epic questline that unfolds as you level. There's not nearly as much to do at end-game as there is in WoW.

Go with whatever makes you happy. I mean, you can pick up where you leave off on either one, so why not just play a titch of LOTRO, if you'd enjoy it mroe at this point.

I suggest trying both the 10 day trails.
I found that if your new to wow, you better have a friend around to explain stuff to you.

LOTRO, simply because I haven't played it yet. It seems pretty good, better than WoW, which I have played, so I'd try that out.

Sadly this is the case when you get to the end of Lotro without the expansion. Most people have replayed through that afew times and just skip straight to the expansion content as soon as possable. There are afew people around but itll be easier to find a group for expansion content than it will preexpansion.

I'd say give LOTRO online a shot. I've only played WoW on and off, and they will keep your character so if you don't like LOTRO you can come back to WoW like nothing happened.

Lotro. wow is dying.
What? It may seem contrary to my previous advice, but LOTRO will die well before WoW, but both will have at least another 5 years in them. And how is WoW dieing, they only lost China (which didn't give them much revenue) It is still big in other countries.

LOTRO from me, seeing as WOW is simply too good for my prehistoric graphics card. There's a wide game world to explore, which is really what I spent the last day of the free trial doing, although I only reached Breetown and I had to avoid most of the creeps along the way. There was also a small issue halfway through the trial where there was no sound of any kind while playing, but as mentioned earlier, my PC is practically an antique.

Neither

The only mmorpgs I would play are dungeons and dragons online (cos its free) or warhammer online (cos it looks awesome).

Im going to have to go with WOW, its a much eayser then most other MMO's so it doesnt feel like a second job. Also you have already invested some money into wow so it would make for sense to keep playing it.

Disclaimer: My first MMO was FFXI, which was a total pain in the ass to play. Fun but very very hard.

That may be true on some servers. On others less so.
I know that on Elendilmir there are always new folks joining along with people rolling new alts, so there is generally a fair bunch of folks around to group with.
And of course joining a kiinship will negate the "am I the only one here" syndrome. :)

Go with WoW. It's easier and prolly one of the best ones to play with. Other than that go with the one that makes you most happy and not so bored.
