Most stuff: LARPing, Magic(played it once, loved it, knew I could never return and was sad), Role-playing games, and cosplay(except if I got to be a stormtrooper, Darth Vader, or somebody else similarly awesome and helmeted)

Also, Gamecrush sounds idiotic.

There's nothing I'm adamantly against, but certain anime makes me laugh. I mean, I'm not so closed minded to say it's all bad, I enjoy a few shows myself, but there are some premises, and usually the end products that go with them, that make me just laugh. Hell, I tried watching Dragon Ball Z the other day and could not get through... three episodes because I'd mocked it so much that it had stopped being funny. Hate it when that happens...

Also regarding the fushibi thing I use diabolos and get funny looks for them, doesn't stop them being awesome.
Nah, I once played around with Diablo sticks (my husband juggles, does the unicycle and I'm still the bigger nerd in public standing) and it was fun. But that seems to actually take skill to do a lot of diablo tricks, Fushibi is just holding a ball.

If this has been done before than I apologize in advance, I haven't seen it and I am curious.

I proudly refer to myself as a nerd, I like RPG's, star wars, reading, you know, nerdy stuff. But there are limits to my nerdom. I'm not here to really judge anyone for their interests, we all have our hobbies and I'm sure if you heard all of mine you would probably laugh at me. What I want to know is there something you've seen, heard of, or known a friend who is into something that brings out the Nelson Muntz *cookies for obvious reference* in you?

Personally the big three are Magic the Gathering, LARPing (if I actually tried it I would probably love it though) and fushibi, which is basically a glass ball you can do stupid tricks with (David Bowe does it in Labrinth and really only he in a cod piece can pull it off). I saw a commercial for them during Avatar and really wanted to give wedgies to all the people doing it.
im pretty much the exact same as you

I wouldn't mind LARPing if there was actually a big enough community in Australia, but that's because I'd probably spend crap loads on decent armour and stuff. That said, I'm 6'1, very broad shouldered, 21 and average build so give me a chainmail shirt and a helmet and I'd pass as a viking.

I think a lot of things I would never do, because I don't do things half arsed, I'm kind of a lazy perfectionist I avoid somethings because the amount of effort I'd end up putting in frightens me. I also don't want to spend hundreds or thousands on cards or figurines.

I don't cosplay, but I recently spent a huge amount of effort making a Rorshach costume (making a really good mask, spray painting a dart gun so it looks like his grappling hook, hunting a perfect trenchcoat from op shops) all just for a 21st because A. it's theme was Superheroes and Villains and B. I'm known amongst my friend as being a comic nut, so a crappy costume would be embarassing.

The most nerdy thing I've ever heard was hillarious and I can't remember where it was from.
Person 1: What would happen if you put a bag of holding inside a TARDIS?
Person 2: I'm pretty sure you'd still be a virgin...

Well any vide game or table top games (D&D, Warhammer, Magic, etc) are okay with me, but cosplay or LARPing where mundanes (normal people) could see me is where I draw the line at nerdieness.

...and don't get me started in combat I don't want to think of the ridiculously complex systems people come up with.
Some real tabletop gaming rulesets are even more complex, even if they're more consistent at the same time. All you have to do is look at GURPS 4e, which seems to have rules for damned near everything.
Yeah but at least they have concrete items like dice, the whole diceless combat in Forum RP really confuses me, but you're right some tabletop games have ridiculously complex rules as well.

I played Magic once. It really is a buzzkill when your friends gets addicted to it. They always try to get better cards. Suddenly, they all show up with cheap strategies to win.

Magic is fun, but too expensive for me to get into, and fushibi sounds cool. LARPing however, is where I draw the line. No disrespect intended towards those who actually engage in that activity, but it sounds rather boring, and I don't think I could get myself to dress up in a fantasy costume and shout spells repeatedly, all the while bashing someone's head with a foam weapon.

Edit: Cosplaying is all good though. If it is done well that is.

Most of it. I'm not exactly self conscious or anything, but I do have an image I'd like to maintain. Wouldn't have the time for it anyway.

I played Magic at one point and paint 40k figs as a sideline thing, but Rhapsody's (of Fire) music? Too nerdy even for me (and that's saying a lot... I freaking love Power Metal).

Star Wars. None of my friends or family know more about Star Wars than me. Its getting to the point where I worry for my own mental health.

I had to look up LARPing. That really exists? Wow. Can't exist near London, too many people would end up missing or hospitalised.

Well, I wouldn't do that. I'd only dress up if it was for a night out on the town. As a more recent nerd, a lot of this is quite new to me, but I like tabletop games, and MMORPG's. Magic is alright, but I find it quite easy. I don't like that furry stuff. Is that nerdy, or just perverse?

well, I'd say I am a nerd- I collect 40k, enjoyed cosplaying as a left 4 dead zombie and am currently still unlaid

larping and card games at this age- no- too far for me (my opinion only)
but hey, all my close friendds are nerds, it isn't such a bad thing
anyways I'll rather be a nerd than and accept it than one of those people that tries to fit in with the "cool crowd" - (the nerds in denial)

so yeah- embrace your inner nerd and stuff
and may your life always roll sixes :D
