Some of you who watch The Big Picture might remember MovieBob mentioning the movie Wreck-it Ralph in his "Most Anticipated of 2012" episode. Well, here it is.

(no, I'm not good at embedding)

It looks impressive, and I was a little surprised Disney made it on their own without Pixar, because this totally looks like a movie they would think up. I'm looking forward to some in-jokes towards gaming, and I also hope that no one in Disney's stupid department (which takes up about 80% of the company) gets their pudgy hands on this.

I'm surprised that a 3-D animated feature could be made by Disney without Pixar being involved. To me that's like an aeroplane without wings.

But still I like it, it looks really interesting and it might be fun as a way to show to the world how far video games have come in the last few years. This may well turn out to be a pretty fun little movie.

I liked the trailer that came out recently. Probably won't be all that amazing, but the references and commentary will be worth the watch imo.

Based on the trailer it looks like Wreck It Ralph will be the Roger Rabbit of Video Games. I mean holy shit, I haven't seen so many different companies letting a studio use their Ips since, well, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

After seeing the last trailer for it, I am now convinced that this is a movie I have been waiting to see ever since I started gaming at age 6.

I mean...Holy crap. A movie about a sympathetic game villain hopping from game world to game world to try to find a place where he can be a hero? Tons of references? BOWSER AND EGGMAN IN THE MOVIE?!?!?!?! November cannot some soon enough.

I mean...It's amazing that they were able to get the rights to feature actual real video game characters. BOWSER. EGGMAN. BISON. Just...holy crap...

Also, that goth chick with the purple hair lounging in the villain therapy session? Some guy thought it might be Misery. From Cave Story. My mind blew up.

I think it looks good. Can't really tell though, it's early days yet.

An aeroplane without wings could be a rocket. Maybe Disney will get it right, Tangled was pretty good and that was a Disney-no-Pixar movie.

Yeah I only knew about that film before the official release from that Moviebob episode.
None the less that film had caught my attention and I am so going to watch that in the cinema!

This is what I hope it'll be, but to be honest, I don't think it's going to be great. It'll probably be ok, but, while the references and characters were nice, the trailer wasn't actually very funny. The few actual jokes in it were just kind of stupid, to be honest ("Why are your hands so freakishly big?" "I don't know, why are you so freakishly annoying?"). And while I think it's great that all these characters are going to be in one film, I wish they'd kept the original styles. The Pac-Man ghosts don't look write if they're not pixellated.

Also, it's a CGI animated film which isn't by Pixar. Scepticism is high by default.

Yeah, I've already (perhaps unwisely) hyped myself up for it and will definitely be watching it come November. My only gripe with is that they had Zangief as a bad guy, which is wrong. In Street Fighter II, the bosses/bad guys were Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison. Zangief was just a normal playable character.

YOU! YOUR GAMER CARD IS HERE-BY REVOKED! Turn it in now, you're fired!

It is NOT Eggman, it is Dr.Robotnik you heathen.

As for Wreck-It Ralph, it looks promising as hell, they've got tons to characters to play with and should have a rather fun story to tell.

His original name, in the Japanese game before it was released in NA, was Eggman.
Besides, I think they've "retconned" it, so now his full name is Dr. Ivo Robotnik Eggman, or other way around. ;)

OT: Friend sent me the trailer on youtube and my mind was blown. Really looking forward to it.

I don't think so...It's more like Toy Story, from what the trailer tells us. The humans are not aware of the video game characters..."existing" which was the whole point behind Roger Rabbit. So it's not the same in my opinion, but I see where your thought process comes from.

Edit: Also...This movie has me super excited. I want to see it, already. There may be a few original game characters, but then again it takes place in an arcade. I've seen several arcade games that seem like one-time made games that belong only to this arcade place.

Here's hoping it doesn't turn into Big Bang Theory: The Animated Movie. As long as they stay away from pandering and too many references, it looks like a pretty good movie. Disney tends to make some pretty good stuff, though, so I'm not too worried.

Jack McBrayer as Felix! Bowser! Dr. Robotnik! Zangief!
And that was Talking Heads "Once in a lifetime" that I heard!
*head explodes*
I might actually go to the movies to see this one!
