I want to be excited for this, but this looks really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, bad.

Lots of lame, forced puns, and a plot that doesn't seem fun, even if its going for the spoof route.

I'm out.

I'm disappointed to see the trailer uses the word "literally" WRONG.
What the fuck is this Newspeak bullshit of using the damn word as a jack-of-all-trades for emphasis? Has the human race finally caved in and accepted people aren't going to learn it properly?
Oh then I bet you'll just love this bit of news: apparently the Hallmark card company is going to be making a Christmas ornament shaped like a gaudy Christmas sweater with some lyrics from the Christmas carol: "Deck The Halls"

However, rather than "Don We Now Our Gay Apparel" they're going to have it say "Don We Now Our Fun Apparel".
That does sound pretty cool, actually.

Damn, you beat me to it. I can't stand this, my brother does it all the time.
I hate the fact people will change the game rules trying to work in literally as slang rather than trying to educate them in the correct use of a word.

This movie just feels so right on so many levels. I just have one tiny problem with it. This is Wonder Woman's big screen debut. Her two boyfriends get some of the greatest comic book movies of all time but her? The oldest and most well known female superhero is in her first movie in a Lego movie. Kind of sad. Anyway despite that little tick in the back of my brain my inner child is going to be coming out while watching this. This is literally the greatest idea ever.

Not only is it an original story, it is stop motion.
Actually, it is not stop Motion, but CGI that is animated to look like Stop Motion. It's like the Hotel dwellers in "Wreck-It Ralph", the ones that were limited in their movements and animations to look stiff like 8-bit characters (Even though they were in 3D). Instead of Tweening the motions to make it smooth, they leave it intentionally jerky to give it that feel.
I couldn't even tell. Wow. They did one hell of a job.

I was expecting disappointment, but now I actually want to see it, it looks pretty funny and has a good cast. The visuals are interesting as well, I can't tell if its CGI or stop motion or something

I also find your "get over it" pretentious and agressively imperative considering your response offered no insight to the discussion and no substance to your claim.
Will you accept a 'literally no one cares'? lol
That doesn't even work on a figurative level.

Meh, Batman seems to be pretty funny, but my hopes for it to be good dropped significantly when I saw "director of cloudy with a chance of meatballs" which absolutely sucked. And the overall trailer just looks like a typical terrible American comedy, except in lego form. The annoying pauses when someone is supposed to do something funny, the reliance on the internet humor of "these characters are awesome, and it's funny because they are, uh..." with Abraham Lincoln and the sort. That they seem to stick to the same.fucking.stupid-cliché.villain.+.love interest.in.every.single.fucking.one with an underdog guy who everyone thinks is special, then it turns out he sin't in the middle and everyoen loses faith, and then near the end he turns out to be amazing and falls in love with stereotypical love interest again.

I can't seriously believe they keep aming the same damn stupid stories over and over again, even when Matt Stone and Trey Parker made a spoof of the entire thign with Team America. It's shocking to see how every single fucking one of these movies follow the exact same fucking structure every single fucking time! Fuck!

This is basically like every other modern kids movie and every modern American comedy except in lego form. I'll pass.
Tell us how you really feel. ^_-

Actually... it's CGI.

But it's just made to LOOK like stop motion. Or it's really stop motion with CGI for stuff they can't do in stop motion with Lego.

I am not entirely sure, the Wikipedia description on "...stop motion/cgi animated..." is rather vague. >_>

Still, I wouldn't be able to tell it's CGI at all if I hadn't read that.

OP you just found out about this?
I think there was discussion on this movie months ago.

Personally I'm pretty excited for the movie. The visuals are pretty and unique, CGI or no, and it seems very meta about itself. I think the movie could be entertaining. I'm not expecting it to be very well written, in fact it might be a mixed bag but it at least it will be pretty.

I don't care if this movie's a hit or just too overhyped for it's own good, I'm going to watch this movie on day 1 release and enjoy the fuck out of it! BELIEVE IT!!!!

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY BRICKS!!!

Besides, I knew about this for some time now, so I'm juts glad it's getting more recognition... (And yes, I know how they're actually pulling this off, but I don't give a fuck! IT'S FUCKING LEGOS!!! Any other logic behind this movie is null and void... PERIOD!)

The story's likely going to be good, but the humor and writing's probably going to be the weakest point of the film. Aside from the end, I barely laughed even once during the new trailer, and most of the jokes come off as immature; almost like out of an Adam Sandler produced cartoon. The main character is probably going to annoy me for the entire movie, as I hardly see an ounce of intelligence or skill from him in any of the clips. All he seems to do is react to everything around him with blind enthusiasm.

But the visuals...oh sweet Jesus I would buy a ticket for this movie just to look at the LEGOs come alive.

Best bet: 3 stars, and likely a guilty pleasure for me.

What do you think of the prospect of a full length feature-film done in LEGOmation?
"You're the special, the one hope for all mankind!" -Every movie ever.

I feel like this will be an enjoyable kind of stupid.

Guess the oxford dictionary isnt a dictionary anymore...

It really isn't. The English have been brutally murdering their own language for generations. It's America's language now, and we'll keep it nice and safe for you. Well...on the west coast anyway, the south and the east will still butcher the fuck out of it.
Um, no. Incorrect. Outside of the major cities like Boston and New York/Jersey, many Americans speak English correctly. Many people on the coast, especially on the west butcher quite a few words, at least in most of California. The south I can agree with though.
As someone who lives on the west cost, we are, like, totally hella better at English than anyone else.

I've never followed this Lego stuff.

However, while channel surfing at a friends house I happened upon a Lego Star Wars spoof that was surprisingly hilarious. I easily preferred it to any of the Family Guy attempts. This being my one and only experience with the Lego property in gaming or T.V. makes good enough quality in my eyes to deserve a movie attempt.

I have no intentions of watching it in a theater but it easily make for a nice Netflix movie some evening down the road.

I was told that already, but thanks anyway.

I was pretty convinced it was stop motion at first, but thinking about it now, there's a lot going on in the trailers. I'd imagine that would be a nightmare for just stop motion animators to pull off.

Yeah, pure stop motion is REALLY time consuming. The production team for Coraline only managed to animate three seconds of footage A DAY. And that was mostly just one girl in a single house. This film would of been such a nightmare to make.
