Has anyone else besides me noticed the huge lack of decent games coming into the market? I find that there has not been a single good release since at least November, maybe early December at a push.

Granted i'm part of the European market so i don't get games as early as some of the users here but, there has been nothing out for coming up to 4 months now. God of war 3 is being released here on the 19th, which I am looking forward to. I have yet to play Mass Effect 2 which was another game I intended to purchase but I begin to wonder whether or not it is worth the buy/

I am a long time Grand Turismo fan and i have been very annoyed of the huge delays posted to it's release.

If anyone has any recommendations for some good, currently playable PS3 games please tell me.

Cheers.

Um...are you joking?

There have been about 5 near perfect games released in the past 3 months.

Mass Effect 2, Battlefield BC 2, Bioshock 2, God of War 3, Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain, Bayonetta, etc. all came out since Jan. 1, do you have no interest in any of those?

I thought that we were doing well for games right now, usually it's much worse at this time of year.

I don't know about anyone else, but in my eyes this week has some pretty good releases.

The PS3 gets God of War 3
The 360 get the remake of Perfect Dark.
The DS gets the remakes of Gold and Silver
And the PC gets C&C 4.

Damn it I want to play all of them but I don't have the consoles or the money.

What this kind sir says. Have you been hibernating, OP, or do you have higher standards of excellence than us mere mortals?

I wish I had the ability to code games. If or when I become a game maker, I will make you all the best game you've ever played ;) I'm suprised there hasn't been any more mech games, or Interstate type games.

I've got a few idea's for games, but I can't make them =( So they are sitting away in my brain storage gathering dust until I get to learning basic programming. Or learning how to learn basic programming. Or until someone steals my idea's.

Maybe I should do what James Cameron did and own the writes to it until I can make it.

Seriously, play Mass Effect 2. It may have changed the mechanics from the first game in a number of ways, but after a short time you'll find you're having so much fun that you don't care and you'll start to wonder why you thought the game needed all those things to begin with.

The story is good, and told amazingly well. The gameplay is extremely fun. The characters are great and there is just so much to do. The combat is also far more tactical than the first game, actually require some thought rather than just running in shooting... try it on insane if you like a real challenge in that regard...

Are you shitting me?

You planned to get what has been the biggest release of the year so far, but now you can't decide if it's "worth it" and then you moan there's no decent games this year?

A couple more games to go and I'll have beaten the number of games I bought last year.

2009 = year of the drought.

2010 = 2007, only better.

Same here, I've got a shitload of games to get. Granted, I'm gonna share with my older brother because he's got the PS3, but whatever; God of War III, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XIII. And I've already gotten Bad Company 2 and Bayonetta.
