I hate what they've done to the series.

Hey guys, let's strap a whole bunch of shiny oiled-up geometric shapes together and call them Pokemon! Bwahey!

I will only ever acknowledge the first generation (in other words, the first 151 that I remember being a huge fan of when I was younger)... and to an extent, the second generation.

I still have my Pokemon Yellow along with my old purple Gameboy Color.
I could agree with you on that but a few from the new generations could stay like the new EEVEE evolution's and Lucario. But after that I think the creativity has long been gone. I watched a new episode a few days ago with my little bro and I swear some of the new pokemon look like Yu-gi-oh and Digamon rip off's, hippo's with holes in them and one looked like a bell with ears on the sides.

I think it's dragging out way too much.

But I think it's coming to an end. After you tackle the fabric of Space and Time, throw in the crap of the Reverse world, and basically the pokemon version of god (Arceus), where can you go from here movie wise or even series wise?

Well I guess they can go to an alien plaent but seriously how would they pull that off?

Mm. When I was about 8, the next town over opened up a Tamagotchi cemetery. The Mayor was known for being a bit weird.

What happened to Pokémon? The marketing department realised that the first 150 critters were no longer relevant in a post-9/11 world and designed about 300 almost identical ones that children could relate to on a deeper, more profound level.

yea theres this thing called "growing up".
Im not saying that Pokemons for kids(though the overall cuteness suggests otherwise). its just that, from what ive seen, most people drop pokemon and start playing tekken after age 14.
Most people...Still waiting for Heart gold and Soul Silver...
I'm 22 and still play it. I know a lot of people who are older than I am that still play it. And Tekken sucks. Virtua Fighter is the true fighting game.
Oh sorry dude my post wasnt clear. Im also still playin it. and as mentioned above im still waiting for Heart gold and soul silver...

take the same game, except everyone is wearing spacesuits.
if it ever does come to that, God help us all.

...damn. I posted that today without seeing this thread.

Oh well.

OP: I don't really think it's died. I still play it more then ever. I don't see much in the way of the movies etc, but the games are still doing well.

I wouldnt say they've completely gone away, the shows still watched, the games still sold, and i still see pokemon card commercials on TV. The only plays they've lowered drastically in popularity was the film industry, they may still release new movies in japanese theaters, but in the US they havent since...2...maybe 3. The show has lost its touch, even before they got the new voice actors & the cards...i don't really like the art, might be a matter of opinion but still... the games are decreasing in popularity(but i'm pretty physiced about the gold & silver remakes) & quality gaming with their...500 some pokemon (way too many) its just becoming sad...
