Pokemon's still extremely popular, it sparks after every game release and the last one was a couple months ago.

I have to admit the numbers have gotten way out of hand, but hell I still play it. In fact yesterday I re-started my Emerald file.

yea theres this thing called "growing up".
Im not saying that Pokemons for kids(though the overall cuteness suggests otherwise). its just that, from what ive seen, most people drop pokemon and start playing tekken after age 14.
Most people...Still waiting for Heart gold and Soul Silver...
I'm 22 and still play it. I know a lot of people who are older than I am that still play it. And Tekken sucks. Virtua Fighter is the true fighting game.
Oh sorry dude my post wasnt clear. Im also still playin it. and as mentioned above im still waiting for Heart gold and soul silver...
My bad.

Pokemon any more has just lost any dignity it ever had. I was playing one of the new ones and a fisherman started dialoging me and said "Hey bro I was up here fishing, and noticed you aint from around here are ya?". And that's when Pokemon lost it's dignity for me.

They had more than 151 (the best) and then they ran out of ideas and now all pokemon look like messed up robotic abominations, and they're all dark type (because it's badass and edgy)

I think the TV show has tanked the most. What little bit of the Battle Diamond Shiny Dimension Frontier nonsense I see randomly makes me want to show the first season (which included near death, out of body experiences, cross dressing and seizures) to the kids watching the newest iterations of the show.

I do think the later generations of game are increasingly gimmicky (and the remakes are milking the cash cow too much), but I still play for the metagame and the nostalgia.
