How about you look at the actual bundle the one that has Resistance, Motorstorm and a third game. And you're still missing 2 years subscription to Live and a wireless adapter for the 360, which is another $150 all up. Meaning its actually actually $536 for a 120 GB machine versus $475 for a 500 GB machine.
Look, its very simple. The Ps3 uses industrial standard SATA hard drives for storage. The 360 only takes specialised ones that Microsoft makes. The 360 ones are incredibly overpriced compared to every other platform on the market today.
Fanboyism FTW!
Honestly, you can throw in as many "optional" peripherals as you want to try to justify the difference in cost, but the thing is, they are OPTIONAL. What if you dont even HAVE wifi internet? You wont be needing that wireless adapter then, and if you aren't into gaming online, you can scratch off that subscription to LIVE, which by the way is far and away the better online gaming environment. People seem to fail to understand that "Free" does NOT = "Better". In the real world, you get what you pay for, and Playstation Online network is proof positive of this. Still, everyone's experience is different, so getting into arguments about whose online service is better is pointless, because not everyone CARES about it. And Sony has never said Playstation Online is going to be free FOREVER. It's just free right now, mainly because they WANT to build the base that xbox live already has. That and most online play is funded by the third party company, leaving THEM responsible for those servers, and quite frankly, that potentially gives online gaming in the Playstation network a potentially limiting scope. But thats still unimportant for the large amounts of gamers who DO NOT PLAY online. So if you want a wireless adapter, you can cough up the money to get one, but you certainly dont NEED one just to buy a console and start playing fun games.
This to me is the biggest flaw of us PS3 fans, and yes I LOVE my ps3 to death so I include myself... we wax on all day long about the system, it's specs, the graphics, it's potential, it's investment, blah blah blah, but at the end of the day it all comes down to the GAMES and how much fun you have playing them. The PS3 could sing me songs, make my dinner, make love to me in whirlwinds of passion, and protect me from the mean gang members that live down the street, but if there arent any games that tickle my fancy, it's going to sit there like an unwanted puppy, wishing and hoping i'd do anything with it besides letting it collect a nice protective layer of dust.

You hear that? Thats the sound of your incredible FAIL! Not only are Sony aware of this, <url=http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2009/04/06/why-sony-wants-you-to-share-your-ps3-games-with-others.htm>they encourage it. Everything, except maybe major online games like Warhawk, can be shared between 5 people if one of them has payed for it.
You hear that? Thats the legion of RIAA and MPAA lawyers readying their lawsuits, because if Sony is actively encouraging people to SHARE copyrighted material THEY DO NOT OWN, they wont have to worry long about the PS3's lagging sales, they'll be put out of business by the multi-billion dollar lawsuits they'll be obliterated with.
YOU can NOT legally share ANYTHING that is not owned by SONY as they themselves have stated in numerous disclaimers if you bothered to read them. If Sony is actively encouraging this, they will open themselves to massive litigation the likes we have NEVER seen before.
But there is no need to worry, because quite frankly you are full of crap. I have yet to see any way to "share my ps3 games" with others that doesnt involve me physically carrying my blu-ray disk to that person's home. The ONLY method I believe this could even be done in is with online games ONLY, otherwise games like Little Big Planet would have lost their rumps off in sales, considering that all that would have needed to happen is for one person to buy it and then share it with 5 other friends, effectively TRASHING media molecule's sales.
But hey, Maybe i'm wrong.
Tell you what, I'm sure you have a few games that I dont have. Why dont we jump on Playstation Online and you can share them with me? I sure could use a free copy of Streetfighter IV...
