I think Fallout 3 and Mass Effect are pretty fun and they don't cost much. Also pick up some of the older need for speed (carbon, pro street) titles and assassin's creed 1 for now.

Edit: Pick up DiRT too, it's pretty cool.

EDIT: You know what Fuck it I know you said no JRPG's but I 'l still recommened Tales of Vesperia, It's combat is like a fighting game and the characters are great.

Yeah, definately depends on your kind of Genre. But my favourites are Mass Effect, Fallout 3, BioShock, Oblivion maybe, and maybe Assassin's Creed 2. And Dante's Inferno can be kind of fun if you have Trials of St. Lucia and like making things. Although to be honest, the editor is pretty pathetic.
