I do miss it quite a bit but I guess some of it was copy-written and couldn't be used on this site. In fact that was the reason Unforgotten realms had to start over when it came to this site.

I liked the way you could get an idea of the review beforehand by listening to the song. They always fitted nicely.

That said, the new theme is awesome and doesn't violate copyright.

Speaking of which, can anyone point me towards a tab for it? I'd like to learn it but can't find a tab anywhere.

It did add humour and character to the review but as Yahtzee has said, he didn't want to keep tiptoeing on the copyright infringement line so he had to get his own theme music. Also he says it makes him more professional and recognizeable.

I've downloaded a few of them to my iPhone, gets me pumped up while I'm out running errands thinking "Yeah, i'm gonna get me some funnies!"... then I realise i'm in the bank having my soul destroyed by the huge queues.

I miss them too. But the theme tune is pretty cool, it kinda makes him like a super hero(?)

the old music was good as it added some humour but the cost was probly too much to get permission for everything.

tho i do like the newer theme

at under 20 seconds long it was under the "fair use" part of copyright infringement, I think the Escapist was just getting pissed off at all the bloggers thinking they "got one over" on Yahtzee and criticized him for it and asking whether he'd be paying royalties.

Am I the only one that misses the different songs that would begin and end an episode of Zero Punctuation? I enjoyed hearing new songs and old favorites that my mind long since decided to forget. I do know that copyrights are touchy about music, but I was just wondering if anyone else missed the music.

some of them were quite subtle, and you only got the joke when you saw the name of the song at the end, or, like cliffs of dover, are obvious

I like both to be honest, but maybe we could have the intro kept the same and change the ending to a custom song.

Not really tired of the new theme though, I still manage to headbang to it every. single. time.

I liked the song choices he used to make, because if you actually knew what the music was it always had a funny connection to the game. The current theme is ok, but has gotten old.
