Really? They're just as averagely funny as ever. He needs a different show, because I think he's funnier when he doesn't have to simply come up with a new way to complain about things every week.
I'm with you, for the most part. I wouldn't mind ZP still going (though maybe less often, like every two weeks or something), and definitely still want to read EP, but I'm interested in what other cards Yahtzee is holding. Guess I might have to just wait until Mogworld hits the shelves.

Funny how exactly what he complains about in games (repetetive and dull) is exactly how his series is becoming, seems like he is just getting tired and can't think of new stuff. I mean he is basically saying the same thing every week.

Nope, I love every single ZP. If they seem to be lacking its probably because the most games these days are boring pieces of shit. There's only so much Yahtzee can do to make reviewing them interesting. Although I do wish he would do more episodes like Wolfenstein and Painkiller were he just has fun.

They're something entertaining to watch on Wednesdays? Seriously what more do you want? It's free entertainment.

Here's an idea, how about you stop watching for a few weeks? Then it will seem like he took a break.
uhh what you said sums it up

What do you think he has been doing the whole time he has been here? It all seems the same to me.

A lot of his recent Zero Punctuation videos feel like they are just lacking in quality to me. Its like watching a really bad comic trying to do stand up but halfway through he realizes that he isn't funny at all so he decides to just insult everything and act like a prick. Perhaps he just needs to take a week or two off.

What do you think of the recent Zero Punctuation videos in comparison to the older ones?
Like the others have said, If you dont like it, stop watching. And stop complaining about free entertainment.

Kinda sucks being the one everyone quotes, isn't it? Anyway, Obligitory ^ This.

Also, Zero Punctution isn't some hobby he puts out for the love of the escapist. It's his JOB. You know what those are, right? Those things that you do and someone gives you money? The greeny leafy spendy money? If Yahtzee doesn't do ZP, he doesn't get paid, unless the escapist has him on retainer and then if he doesn't do ZP, he's in breach of contract and he can take as long a break as he wants, because he won't have a job.

I'm sorry if you think that his stuff isn't up to par, I personally like his reviews as much now as I always have. But I'm sure that after a while, you got a little tired of your job(assuming you have one) and slacked off a bit, but you still came in to work the next day. ZP is a job just like yours. Only better.

Yeah, it seems so... i think i've narrowed it down to lack of traditional British wit. Older ZPs were witty, with copious amounts of wordplay, visual puns, ridiculous metaphors, and so on. Now it's just dicks and dead baby jokes... not too exciting. So yes, i agree that he needs to take a break... not a week or two, but a month or two if he wants to be funny again. Too bad it won't happen. So i've just stopped watching them and probably won't return.

EDIT: I like the way entire "you can't criticize it because it's free" crowd thinks: flaming the OP as if he's automatically wrong.
While I agree the because its free is kinda a bad reason, I think the "problem" is people are too used to him. Ofcourse then people who do not like it should take a break instead and let the rest of us still enjoy it. Why should I suffer cause YOU are too picky? (You being those who agree with OP, not you specifically the person I am replying to)

Unfortunately, Yahtzee chose "Critquing humor" as his style, which essentially means he's only as funny as the latest game allows him to be. If a game is lacking in exploitable flaws, he is forced to import humor from other mediums. Even if a game is flawed, if it is not so in an interesting way, he simply ends up repeating himself from the last video. It's nothing to do with him and everything to do with video games at the moment.

I've been noticing a lot of penis jokes in his videos lately. He really is running out of things to say.

ZP just goes in little streaks, I found the episodes in and around the Dead to Rights to Alpha Protocol or so were great, but lacking a but since ... give it a week or two and another set of winners will come around like they always do.
exactly! some reviews are better than others. in general, most of the newer reviews are better than the older ones. but some games, no matter how good or bad, lend themselves to ZP type criticism more so than others.

What is funny? Well that's entirely subjective. I certainly watch the new ZP every week, and I always laugh at something if not everything. Some weeks my throat hurts from laughing, others I get by with only a couple chuckles. But no "review" thus far hasn't been worth watching for me. Then again, I'm one of those supposedly weird people who still like The Simpsons. I don't feel a particular need to deem something crap because it's been around for a while.

Part of the problem is that he reviews games once a week now. Who the hell, other than game reviewers, play a new game every week? I just went back to his assassin's creed II review because I just started playing it.

ZP is funnier if you have played the game he is reviewing. The time period between his Mass Effect 2 review and his Alan Wake review was especially long for me because I wasn't playing anything he reviewed in that period. Since then I've played Red Dead Redemption and Crackdown 2, and I enjoyed both of those videos.
