it's possible that yahtzee is overworking himself-he just released a novel, he is still working at the mana bar all the time, trying to keep up with ZP, extra punctuation, and fullyramblomatic...maybe the guy COULD use a break. but not to appease his silly fanboys-i don't think his comedy has gone down a bit.

I think its alright, there's a lot less sesquipedalian compared to earlier stuff, but w/e it's good.

A lot of his recent Zero Punctuation videos feel like they are just lacking in quality to me. Its like watching a really bad comic trying to do stand up but halfway through he realizes that he isn't funny at all so he decides to just insult everything and act like a prick. Perhaps he just needs to take a week or two off.
Yeah, it seems so... i think i've narrowed it down to lack of traditional British wit. Older ZPs were witty, with copious amounts of wordplay, visual puns, ridiculous metaphors, and so on. Now it's just dicks and dead baby jokes... not too exciting. So yes, i agree that he needs to take a break... not a week or two, but a month or two if he wants to be funny again. Too bad it won't happen. So i've just stopped watching them and probably won't return.
So you're complaining about a show you haven't watched, assuming that he still sucks? What.

Actually, I think it's decreased a little in humour, but we're getting more genuine criticism from him.

Let me explain: i've stopped at ZP of Dead To Rigths: Retribution, because it was "meh". I came back for the review of Singularity, and it was MUCH worse. Conclusion may not be entirely valid, but it's obvious.

I expect every single thing that Yahtzee creates to be 100% entertaining. That's realistic right? It's not like other entertainers create things which I occasionally don't like.

Stepping off the sarcasm boat for a moment, Yahtzee's stuff is still more entertaining than many other things on the internet in my opinion (which is as significant to others as a drop in a pond).

I said this in the last 'Yahtzee isn't good anymore thread'
Just because you don't enjoy it as much now doesn't mean he's wrong just that your wrong and that you won't be happy until his show bends to your every desire.
What does the pretty noticeable decline in quality of humor, both in the jokes and witty hatred, have to do with someone's desires?
The point here is that not everybody noticed a drop in quality. Just because some people don't like it doesn't mean that it should stop or take a break (See: Robot Chicken, Family Guy, The Simpsons.)

What do you think of the recent Zero Punctuation videos in comparison to the older ones?
No, they're not lacking in quality. You're an idiot, and your standards are way too fucking high. It's free entertainment, and Christ, do you know how hard it has to be to find the flaws in the game and make decent jokes? It's damn hard, let me tell you. The man doesn't have to bend to your every desire so you can be entertained. And if it really bores you, go do something else, not ***** about a web series.

Well, DTRR wasn't all that great, and I don't remember the Singularity review, but other ones were good. Red Dead Redemption was awesome, in my opinion, and the others vary in quality but none of them fall below "slightly above average".

EDIT: I like the way entire "you can't criticize it because it's free" crowd thinks: flaming the OP as if he's automatically wrong.
I haven't seen anybody say they're wrong.
The "You can't criticize it because it's free" is not saying "You're not allowed to dislike it," It's saying "If you don't like it, stop watching it. Not as if you payed for it."

See, if you pay for something, you're allowed to say "What is this shit, I payed for good stuff and you're giving me crap."
If, on the other hand, you're being provided with free shit, criticizing it just makes you look like a dick (and kinda greedy.) If somebody offers you free stuff you don't like, you just don't take it. You don't demand better free stuff.

It's not like he can just increase the hilarity every week. Some games just aren't very good and there has been an awful lot of those lately.

Hm. When people actually say "I think Yahtzee should _________", I can't help but roll my eyes... they are entitled to their opinions I suppose, but frankly, they're being ridiculously egocentric, so file me with what looks like the majority of the folks above. About all I can add to it is this: he gets paid by the Escapist to generate pageviews, and likely has a contract to do so (which I bet prevents him from just abandoning ZP for a while because he's "tired"). If you feel that the quality of his work has gone down, then stop watching. If enough people agree with you and stop watching as well, then the people who pay him will notice, and may do something- like make him take a break- in an attempt to improve the quality of his videos. But other than that, you're pretty much TSOL. After all, you're not having your eyelids propped open with toothpicks and then being forced to watch, so it's not like you can do anything other than either complain fruitlessly (please don't) or stop participating.

OT: I have always felt that Yahtzee was inconsistent with the quality of his work, but I have yet to watch a video (and I've seen them all) where I thought to myself 'you know, absolutely nobody is going to find that funny.' So I keep watching. Some weeks, I barely crack a smile. Other weeks, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. All and all, given that it's only 5 minutes of my time and it's free, I think it ends up being a good investment.

Honestly? I would say you should enjoy ZP while you can. I have a funny feeling that given Yahtzee now has several other means of supporting himself, when the contract is up, we may only see a ZP every two weeks, or once a month, or maybe not at all: it's pretty clear that while he enjoys the schtick, he would be a lot more selective about the games he would review if he could be.

Agreed. Heaven fuckin forbid anyone critique the critic. Isn't that what a productive member of ... oh who cares lynch him. The OP hath betrayed us with his interrogative ways! Burn him.

This weeks was meh, and when he has a meh installment I not only think about what he currently has to review but I watch an oldie just to get the taste of mediocrity out of my maw.

Kudos for a necessary flamemagnet.

Well, with his DeathSpank/Limbo review, I can't really say I laughed that much, because just like with plenty of other reviews (Braid being a good example), his bias toward indie games hangs thick in the air.

On the other hand, nearly every review he's done since June has made me at the very least chuckle quite a bit. RDR being one of the highlights.

To add to the legion of comments, I still have to agree with the simple mantra of "Don't like it, don't watch it." You're not paying money for the service. I mean, I stopped liking CAD after some specific stuff (though as it's unrelated, I won't go into detail), and you know what I did? I stopped reading. Fancy that, huh?

I've been noticing a lot of penis jokes in his videos lately. He really is running out of things to say.
Are you complaining about penis jokes from Yahtzee? He's been doing those for a while now and a lot of them too. Maybe he was just in the "penis" sort of mood especially during the making of his short.

OT: You might just be watching too much of it too though. Try some of the other stuff 'round here. It's pretty good.

Some are hits some are misses, I've seen no dive in his effort or quality. You either resonate with it or you don't, just accept it and let the man have his fun.

Maybe you need a break, I dunno.
