(Board games count as gaming right? If not, move to off-topic please.)
I was thinking about Zero Punctuation and the man Yahtzee today, and I realized that I've never actually played the game Yahtzee. I've owned a copy all my life but have never played it. I looked into it and it looks like a silly game of chance that wouldn't even be fun the way poker, Blackjack, or other gambling/card games would be. There's no strategy to it or anything.

So my question to you is, have you ever played Yahtzee, and do you find it fun?

I played it. It was alright. I just want to say that it is not that fun if you play it alone.

It's alright. I've played it a few times with my family. It just a mindless little party game.

Neither have I. I've seen people play it, but I never bothered to learn the rules of the game and always stared in confusion.

Yahtzee is the kind of game you play when you don't really want to play a game, you just want something to do while drinking with friends. It's easier to clean up than a card game, and easier to figure out the rules for newbies. Playing Yahtzee by yourself must be the saddest thing imaginable (no offense Mr. Crowshaw, I'm sure you have a great time playing with yourself regularly.)

As far as board games go, it's... not as terrible as Monopoly.
Monopoly is the greatest board game ever, as long as you remember to make some changes to the rules.

Most importantly, you must allow closed door dealings and free exchanges of money between players, so players can work together and bribe each other to affect the outcome of the game. That makes it more like real international business and when people ultimately are forced to betray each other the drama is fantastic!

I remember I used to play it by myself on my dad's phone a lot when I was younger. Not that fun, but a decent way to pass 5 minutes.

Monopoly is a game that clearly states that it is okay to cheat and steak from your friends, as long as not noticed by the other players. It turns people into foam-mouthed beasts, whose eyes glitter at the sight of plethoras of $500's. The game turns to a cut-throat race as players struggle to claim Boardwalk first, as if it were France during WWII. It teaches that the only way to win the game i.e. "life" is to conquer everything by brute, financial force. What is wrong with that?

You know saying that gives you herpes.

God hates people with bad taste in board games.

I know you are joking but srsly :p. It is easy to make that kind of hyperbolic description about just about anything. I recall someone writing about a modern day house as if it was an archeological find and people who didn't see the pictures didn't realize it.
