Sitting around with my friends discussing porn is probably one of the most uncomfortable situations I can imagine.

Then again, maybe women have much more down-to-Earth mindset about their porn.

I'd first like to point out that this threads main focus isn't Yaoi. Anyone can have whatever fetish they want, it's not important. But rather the trend of Yaoi fangirls to be very loud and open to discussion about there fetish. Congregating in groups, clubs and even conventions surrounding it.

Is it just me or does anyone else find this weird?
No, in fact there is a whole Brotherhood delicated to stoping them.

Join us, Join us as we stop them!

That and I was forced to watch Boku no sexual harrasment.

Well, yaoi is nice, but bara is better.
Either way, it shouldn't matter what your preferences are, all forms of love are great!
Did you watch it all? If you got through all that, then props to you, you are now scarred for life.
Bara?

That should scared them....Hohoho.

I tend to stay away from anime as a whole, because of trends like these that have turned anime into a varitable waste land of general and simplistic terms and formulas.

Each one to their own i guess, but people are out there male and female, and the fetishes they crave desire, love or whatever. Will seem weird to anyone else.

But personally the idea of it all, is nothing more than just humorous really.

Just wondering if people who like say, S&M, or whatever, have thing kind of community.
ooooh yeah, there is one hell of an S&M community. Furries and pony-play too. I know there's a lot more than that too.

i'm a guy, and i HATE yaoi fangirls. not only is it because they're typically the stereotypical anime nerd with no friends, but they also want to see someone like me (a dude) make out with another guy.....that's f**king uncomfortable, seriously, i know i was raised not to hit a girl but i'd hit a yaoi fangirl if she was annoying me enough.
Hah, as a girl who has been told by society that all guys want from a girl is sex and every time they look in my general direction they are undressing me with their eyes etc. etc.

I have to say: I have little sympathy for you.
well, yeah, but, you're probably hot if guy's are undressing you with their eyes (which is an amazing display of telekenetic prowess xD) unlike a typical yaoi fangirl, not likely to happen.

plus, i have a GF and i don't want sex from her.....you must have a bad image of guys, i feel bad for you.

and this is unrelated, but this is why it's so hard for nice guys like me to find a girl (not that i haven't ;D) because some girls have a bad image of guys (i.e. you think we're all pervs >:C) and that's what the whole plot to scott pilgrim was. no, seriously, have you seen that movie? if yes, let's talk about it, if no, i don't wanna spoil it because IT'S SO GOOD, SO GO SEE IT.

You know how people have different "taste" in the opposite sex? Some people like red hair, etc.
Yeah...who would do that? *shifty eyes*

I just imagined a proper English tea time in our Sunday best saying, "And so his balls were slapping against her..."

"Mmm-yes, I was talking to Beatrice last night and she agreed it was quite the orgasm." *sips tea*

I never said that this happened, I have no delusions of my attractiveness. Just that's how I and other girls have been raised, that we are wank fodder. This seemed similar to your anxiety/frustration/anger at the notion that there are hordes of girls who are imaging or wishing you would shag the nearest male near you. Hence my amusement.

And yes, I have seen Scott Pilgrim, I sadly didn't like it. I'm not into the hipster scene too much. Plus it seemed Scott was just a man child trailing after Ramona who never really seemed to feel anything for him. But that's neither here nor there.

Yaoi tends to be a more public community because of its fictional nature and often less graphic imagery (because it's often about 'love' rather than sex) than, for example, S&M or most lesbian pornography.

There are similar communities for other pursuits, but you're less likely to come across them. Partly because they're more sex-related, but also partly because, as a gamer, you're naturally more likely to come across Yaoi as it has a more tangible link to the gaming community, as it is usually dominated by gaming or anime characters.

......hipster? ....... that movie was a tribute to the 80's and 90's. it's about a geek who falls in love with a hard core chick...... what hipster wants to watch a movie with micheal cera in it other than superbad?

right when u said "i didn't like it" that shut me off. you could go read the comic, you might like that better. or go play the game, the ending is very different and funny all the same.

plus, where were you raised not to trust boys? kansas?

Texas actually. But I don't think its a regional thing so it doesn't really matter, jack asses are pretty much a global thing.

And I can not get into the film why the hell would I go play the game of it? And the comic didn't do anything for me either. So yea, I am not in any way shape or form a Scott Pilgrim fan. You can go shut off your brain and go about pretending I don't exist just because I do not like a certain franchise.

well that nice that you're honest about the movie. i don't get that a lot.

and texas? i have a friend who lives there! and i can see why you school's probably better than mine (michigan, a bit more "accepting" here. in texas, they made fun of texas for kill mentally handicaped people on family guy, if something is made fun of on family guy is HAS to be big issue! if that zero kid went to texas, hell, he'd be shot about 10 minutes into a conversation)

Well, I dont watch yaoi and I never will. But, yaoi fangirls are considered weird by others because MOST of them yell and cry about how much they love yaoi. It is a fetish, and I dont think people should be telling others about their fetishes. Saying you love yaoi in public is the same as saying you love having poop sex or what we call the "Cleveland Steamer"

I'm not a yaoi fangirl per say but I like /some/ yaoi. Not all of it, not the incredibly creepy couples. I like the death note couples tho.
