Not ok.

I don't go to the cinema any more - got too sick of entitled, noisy arses who didn't know how to stop twatting about with their phone or shut their pie hole for 2 fucking hours. The standard conventions of expected behaviour are being lost. When I was a kid it was clear to me that you take a piss before you go in (admittedly, anyone can get caught short, but use your damned brain), and then you sit down and you shut up.

My last trip to the cinema made me want to murder.

Heckle the ads, heckle the trailers, that's not what I paid to see. But if you don't like the movie, get off your backside and leave and let everyone else have some bloody peace.

I've only done that once. My friends and I went to see The Core and we asked the other 3 people (seriously) in the theater if they minded if we made fun of the movie. After the movie the other three people thanked me and my friends for being the only good part of that movie.

I go to a bad theater so I'm usually not the only one talking, and even that isn't very disturbing to people. I don't see what the problem is as long as people can still hear the movie.

Me and my friend went to see Super 8, and were constantly making jokes, like "If the alien's trying to build a spaceship, why does he need to kidnap humans?" And "That kid's still got his braces, even though the magnet thing should have ripped them off."

It's really distracting, I didn't pay to listen to you yack on or make sarcastic quips, I paid money to watch the film.

See, that's the thing that annoys me. Exactly what this person said, none of the people involved in the making of this movie can hear you. DON'T DO IT.
I've seen people clap for the credits and it never bothered me.
But I guess clapping at any other time during the movie would make you look like a twat.

I find that as long as I can clearly hear the movie, and it isn't mucking up some serious moment (a.k.a. a dramatic moment that actually IS dramatic) I don't mind. But once a lady behind me left her cell phone on and it had a siren ring tone... NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE.

Yeah, credits is okay (if a bit weird) but this situation was after a particularly good joke, like it was a damn stand-up show.

I've done this once. With two others and no one else in the cinema, watching Sorority Row.

Mind you, that film is terrible and deserved every comment I made of it. In all other circumstances, I'm strongly for everyone in the cinema to shut the fuck up, while the film is on. I didn't pay money to hear you.

Seriously though, if you liked it, whatever. But it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.
I was willing to take you seriously, but then you said this line.

This is a bad line. It takes away all credibility as someone who thinks themselves as having taste in films. If it is the worst film you have ever seen, you have clearly never seen films that are actually bad.

I mean shit, have you seen cabin fever 2?
Oh sure, I've seen movies that were arguably worse, but none of them caused the kind of rage I felt when watching Green Lantern. Probably because I'm a huge fan of GL and went in really wanting to like it, only to be subjected to horrible jokes, a nonsensical plot, and a whiny protagonist.

I suppose in this instance it's a case of Expectations / Quality of the Film = Red Lantern Levels of Rage

In my theatre, we only talk during the previews. When the movie starts, if you wanna talk you better be whispering.

Seriously though, shut the hell up at the theatres. It's polite and won't get people thinking about the ways they're going to murder you.

People who talk during movies or shout out inane rubbish are WORSE than people who paid to see Twilight.

The funniest story I heard was of a Ann Frank production in which an audience member became so bored he shouted "She's in the attic!!".
