Yet Another MW2 Thread : Quickscopers

What is so bad about quickscopers, people hate us as much as they hate noobtubers!

I mean really, you're comparing the lowest skill to largest reward strategy (tubing) to the highest skill to least reward strategy, what is so bad about quickscoping?

The sheer concept seems so barbaric. I come from tf2 though, wherin the fundamental gameplay is drawn out bouts of movemental-oriented-hat-simulating-combat.

Personally, I don't particularly enjoy facing them simply because it is a tactic that promotes using the damn things. That being said, I play hardcore mostly, and people who try to quick-scope in hardcore tend to die. Fast-like. Also, I am a SMG user and thus the opposite of the quickscopee in terms of weapon methodology.

Of course, I also use the riot shield 45% I play, so yeah...

It's really started to get popular these past couple of weeks, thus the hate machine has risen on its haunches.

Of course, people who get mad at a game such as MW2 make me laugh every time. Ive been screamed at for noob tubing, riot shielding, rushing, camping, DEagle'ing, Hard-Scoping (Normal Usage of Rifle), Thermal Scope, Silencer, Javelin, c4, claymore...

I can go on, basically you will always be yelled out for something you do.

Also, now I am a '****** ass prestige lobbyist' now that I hit 10th 70.

I think you have it backwards. Hardscoping is noob now, while quickscoping is "pro". Because of this you now have people who snipe who can't do shit because if they hardscope they suck, and quickscoping is the only way to snipe now.
For example, I was in this game where a kid was sniping, and like I just said he was quickscoping. It turned into a one on one, me vs. this kid. He saw me and started to quickscope. What did I do? I stood in the same spot for the whole time doing nothing has he missed every single shot.
If he had used a normal scopeing method he would have killed me on the first shot, but because there is this retarded mentality of sniping in MW2, we have idiots trying to be "pro".

Because that's not how you use a sniper rifle. Granted it's not the player's fault, they're playing with the hand they're dealt, developers are the ones that need to make sure this can't be done (unless we're talking about something like Unreal Tournament).

But anyway, I mostly play Bad Company 2 nowadays, so I don't have to deal with this.

I think most people hate it because it is essentially makes the sniper rifle a one hit kill assault rifle. Tubes you get (2) and you're empty, yes you can refill etc. And there is the problem that with every gun you use there is some +'s and -'s the - of the sniper rifle is that its supposed to be a long distance killer where the user has to hold the breath to get a steady shot. Quick scoping kind of removes the whole you're supposed to be looking down the scope, steady, shoot. And it also (in my experience) is fairly effective in close range, where if you were looking through it normally or hip firing you'd be pretty damn screwed. Also unlike tubing you have plenty of ammo to go through and the sniper rifle can still be used for its primary long range use, but a tube you're either in tube mode or in fire mode, which leads to a lot of tubers getting killed. That's just my two cents. I dislike both tubing and quick sniping.

Its called hardcore, people who try and quickscope on it get killed very very fast. Really its a stupid strategy for noobs who play on regular mode and in my opinion is far worse then knifers or noob tubers.

Oh dear god this guy plays like I do. Riot shield and an m1 whatever its called shotgun or a tmp is my standard choice of weapons. If im not using that its a tar w/heartbeat. Although im only on my 4th prestige not 10th.

F*ck yeah Riot Shield of Justice! Right now I rock the Desert Eagle as my secondary. Its impracticable as hell, but man oh man is it satisfying to fire. If not that then I normally go with a Rafficka

I'm playing the game wrong? quick scopers are the ones running around using a sniper like a shotgun.. but yeah your more than likely right...


The main probly with no scopers is that its scrubby, you get people like me for one who use smg's i would say most of the time with assualt rifles, of course i use snipers as well. But there is nothing than when you are using a sniper, scoped in hit someone and it clips them, then your running around with an smg and some scrub lucks a shot that drops you in one, usually after you have put a good 5 or so bullets in them (didnt want to over exaggerate and get brought up on that as well)

A tactic is a tactic, use it or have it used against you. That's my opinion on all of these games, if it's so game "breakingly" bad then why are you playing that game?

Dont get all emotional, man up. again i dont agree with camping either, i think everyone should move about and not sit in one spot, how ever there is a difference between sitting in one spot such as a roof or window, compared to lying in some grass with thermal, cold blooded on with a silenced 50 cal.. maybe with heartbeat to top it off..
