There are steps that must be followed in this kind of situation:

1) Punch the Creeper in the face.

2) Slam the door.

3) Run the fuck away from the door.

4) If the Creeper didn't explode, go find a stick (or other bunt object), break the window on the door, and hit the Creeper repeatedly until it dies, or, better yet, duct tap a knife to the end of the stick and stab it.
