You are an advanced alien race and you discover a primitve species what would you do?

As a matter of principle my own species, a nomadic people, would leave humanity in peace. Once they're a space faring race we'd possibly approach them. By space faring I mean actually able to get off their planet with more relative ease than a big rocket that wastes a tonne of fuel.

Given the destructive nature of humans we'd probably be too apprehensive in giving you technological advances you haven't earned. But once humans are able to get out there on their own there's nothing wrong with giving you certain technologies and making sure its distributed fairly for the good of the whole world and its people.

I would show the species how much bigger the universe is than their little world. This would hopefully make them realise the futility of their savage ways and uplift them to new and better stages of development. Then establish proper diplomatic relations and help their development so they can take their place in the galactic community.

I can't do it justice with my text but thinking that Pure Neutral is good as "I didn't do anything, so I cannot be blamed" is just plain ignorance.

I believe I'd make first contact but I'd remember the Krogan and try to limit the amount of technology we give them without completely obscuring their cultural and racial identity.

Of course, if we examine greed in human nature and presume that aliens could experience something similar or even just fear then I'd have to be careful not to, for lack of a better term, alienate them and make them hostile or distant to us.
