1. Hire back Yoshitaka Amano and get Tetsuya Nomura working on a different game set in whatever cyberpunk Star Wars universe he borrows all his sets from. This will substantially reduce the number of androgynous Tokyo fashion-maven pretty-boys in the cast, and since Amano's game graphics somehow wind up looking absolutely nothing like his concept art, there's a fair chance the game will actually look quite nice.

2. Hire back Nobuo Uematsu, but beat him severely any time he so much as mentions Latin chanting.

3. Put the goddamn fantasy back in Final Fantasy. Enough of this wannabe-cyberpunk shit.

4. Hire a decent writer. They're not that hard to find.

5. Institute a similar severe-beatings policy for anyone who suggests that the production isn't angsty enough.

6. Limit the grand total cutscene time to under two hours.

To the past, where airships had propellors, male characters were only girly in the concept art, Cid wielded a wrench and characters actually HAD SPECIALTIES THAT ONLY THEY WERE GOOD AT.

EDIT: Oh, and get a fucking story that doesn't have plot-holes that a five year-old can see. FF12.....I'm looking at you.

Overal game setting:very cyberpunk-ish; real-time battles/switch between characters at any time during battle

Main character name: Shishiru Valterna-An adverage hight man that has blonde hair and always wears a white suit w/ black tie

Weapon:8 swords(4 on each side of his hip) that each have they're own power(smoke, fire, sand, electricity, ice, water, darkness, and light)

Friends:

Dante Serit-1 of only 2 friends Shi's ever had, life long friend who has stuck with him through thick and thin, mercenary buddy.

Backstory: childhood friend of Shi met him when both of them were in a foster home together.

Apperence: black hair, wearing black pants,a white shirt, and a black trench coat.

Weapon:AK-47 and Rapier

Stella Returna-The second friend of Shi,met her while doing a job they both got hired to do by the same person,2nd merc buddy.

Backstory:lost her parents due too XiTech's human experements has been alone most of her life.

Apperence:long blonde hair, wearing black pants and a short sleeve suit shirt

Weapon:Akimbo(dual-wield) P90s
----------------------------------------

Main Enemy:Vincent Petchra

Backstory:created super soilder to help XiTech become emperor of the world (cliche,I know)

Apperence: Black suit with white tie

Weapon:same as Shi(except he dosen't need swords to use powers)

Afflicion: XiTech Industries

----------------------------------------
Now this story might seem very lackluster because I really don't feel like typing this long *** stroy and all the dialog I created so I'll just give you the "bare bones" of it.

Story: Shishiru and Dante were mercenaries hired by this rouge faction to get these 8 swords XiTech was draining of power to create a super soilder(Vincent).Once they stole the swords an alarm went off,on their way out the bump into Stella who explains she was also hired by this faction to get the swords,so they team up.

After they escape they give the swords to the leader of the faction who then proceds to kill them so he doesen't have to pay them and too not have anyone know he has the swords after they kill everybody in the fation.

Stella decides to befriend and work with Shi and Dante.XiTech finishes Vincent but since they didn't have the swords to fully finish him he only has 50% the original power he was ment to have.Vincent awakens but quickly slaughters everone XiTech including the CEO's who made him.

Stella tells her past to Shi and Dante and they tell their's all the while Vincent is trying to find them so he can get the swords back so he can essenchily become a god.

Vincent finds them, they fight, they win, Vincent dissapers laughing, the end.
--------------------------------------

I told you it was going to be pretty bare bones.

Yet you include Mystic Quest, which was the FF game aimed at children and quite possibly the worst FF game ever made!?
That's where you are wrong good sir, it was the first Final Fantasy to be released in america and the japanese where afraid us americans would be too stupid to understand the complexities of a full fledged RPG so they dumbed it down immensely

Uh wuh? Ummm, no, no it's not. Mystic Quest was released on the SNES AFTER FF2...I mean 4, came out. In fact, Mystic Quest isn't even a Final Fantasy game, an official one at least. Too much about it is different, like they took another game and slapped the Final Fantasy title on it. Kinda like the FF Adventures on the GB, which were originally part of the Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana) series.

EDIT: DAMN! Ninja'd by s69-5....good job FF Jedi, the fantasy is strong with you.

Insted of bullets, Firaga though.
umm you do know fi
well, final fantasy 7 di

Wow i was going to say something about your comment but it is so... i dont know so i cant finish my correction. There is no way to contradict that without being rude or wrong.

Anyway,i would make it go back to its routs of final fantasy 10 and below. I miss turn based rpgs... where did they ever go to?
I know there was Dirge of Cerberus, but I also know it was a godaweful Third Person aRail shooter, an idea that was 10 kinds of doomed o fail from the get go, I feel.

And actualy, the more I think about it, the more I realize how terrible an Idea it is anyway.
Bring back the ATB system and make Amano the artist again and I'll be happy. So my "forward" direction is back a few games.

Subvert the whole genre by having a FF game where you play as the god-like supervillain. You don't have a party, but you do have some helpers, who are either terrified of you, or worship you.

Most boss battles involve you facing off against the hero party, who attempt to thwart your plans.

What plotholes were there? TOO MUCH "AS A BIRD STANNING WATCH OVER THE SHOULDERS OF A NATION I TOO HAVE SEEN AND BEEN PERPLEXED BY WYRMS OF STRENGTH" etc?

i liked Dirge of Cerberus...

oh god wait that amano guy? dident he make the art for all the games 6 and below? yeah screw that.
I'll admit, I haven't played much of DoC, but what little I played wasn't... pleasant. Albeit I'll submit it was near the end of the game on a friends file, so I was kinda just button mashing.

Six and below and Nine. I like his art, since it has nice flow and relatively realistic looking proportions. Not to say Nomura doesn't, his are actually quite well done, especially recently, but I've never felt the same spark from his as I have from Amano's (save for the XIII designs, since those seem to borrow heavily from Amano, probably owing a little to the art he did from Dissidia.)
I'd actualy like to see someone new take up the FF art, like Ayami Kojima, the Castlevania artist. Or Hideo Minaba who did A.S.H.. Actualy, I'd like to see all the guys who did XII's designs back togeher, since it was like seven guys who made some of my favorite designs in the games.

I would hire a decent voice actor to play the protagonist, and make him dress like a relatively normal person.

Take all the money invested in the project and make a Shadow Hearts 4, another game in the Chrono series, and a current-get Earthbound game for the wii. Seriously, Final Fantasy could use a break.

Have the two guys from Unskippable, Yahtzee, and TheSpoonyOne provide the voice talents for 3 characters (the two guys from Unskippable would be voices for a gollum/smeagol-type character with two different styles of combat) I would also tie the story of every single Final Fantasy game into a single, coherent storyline.

I would remake 7, and then I would murder the series by making the new game a space marine RPG.

That's turn-based.
I'd probably still play it.
