I'd have to assume such a transformation would also grant super-human like capabilities because just being what is essentially a human with animal features would kinda suck, still I guess you'd be a god among the furries

Human/human cross: super-intellect, some kind of mecha-improvement on opposable thumbs that is of such use that you could tease normal humans the same way one might tease their pet dog with 'I've got opposable thumbs and you don't, you can't get the stick back from me nah nah...', the ability to enslave other species for food and lulz, automatically leaves a trail of environmental destruction in one's wake (I'm envisaging a trail of blackened grass on the dead earth as a narrow trail following one's footprints, and, well:

A thick exoskeleton, the ability to lift things many times theyer weight, come in all colors of the rainbow, and above all, are extreamly healthy, and heal quickly!
I would not only be extreamly powerful, but very robust! Possily bullet proof. ((small caliber rounds, such as pistol or SMG)) And if i did take damage, or injery, i could take time to heal wounds, and possibly even regrow missing limbs.

Can't go with anything reptilian because being cold blooded would probably mean I'd have to hibernate all winter in this part of the world.
Anything with wings is a sure-fire way to get the worst case of brittle bone disease ever heard of.
Nothing feline because being male that'd mean I'd never get laid. (look it up, anyone who doesn't follow the reasoning)
Bugs... possibly the best idea yet although having a fluid filled exoskeleton doesn't really appeal to me all that much.
In the end I'd have to agree with all those people who said some form of ape or chimp.
