Oh GOD, I'm a furry!
Ah well, I guess I'd want to be half monkey, grabbing things with my feet and a prehensile tail?
Awesome!
Aww.. I got ninja'd.

Yeah, I'd be a monkey. A tail would be awesome.

Or a Horse, so I could be a Centaur.

Some kind of beetle.
Wings, hard, smooth skin, vastly increased proportional strength, and WINGS!
I could be a superhero!

I wouldn't mind being a centaur.

The classical Greek kind, not the Buck 65 kind.

Well, maybe...

For the further advancement of science, UberCorp Unlimited has discovered a new way to bind animal DNA and human DNA into one, making a man/animal. You are the first guinea pig (no pun intented) and are being paid a million bucks to do this as well as your choice of what animal you get combined. What would you chose and for what reason?
Humans are animals.
WIN.

Though for the sake of sakeness, it's an interesting notion. Skunk, probably be my weapon of choice, though I'd like to integrate my new weapon system in a better location than where nature intended...

A freakin' dragon. I can fly and breath fire. As long as I don't run into ray winstone, I'll be fine.

If it must be a real animal, I'd say wolf, really for no other reason than visiting new york with a sign that says "English werewolf in new york. Payback's a *****."

I'd like some really big wings, big enough to support me in the air and allow me to fly. So, a bird of prey or something. Plus I'd hopefully have the rest of my body, as well as the wings, so I could still perform everyday tasks. Just with the addition of wings.

Wolf... yes not really original but i am a huge fan of The Captain from hellsing...
And only true werewolf in my opinion in whole series (since captain posesses both human, wolf, and hybrid forms)

A horse. You know what they say about horses.

A gorilla. The mind of a man and the strength of a great ape. It's the whole primate package!

This assumes a creature of that size and shape would be light/low-dense enough to fly in one standard atmosphere.
The "laws of nature" where science says what should and shouldn't be possible don't apply to animals. Science says bees shouldn't be able to fly, but they do.

OT: I'd want to be half honey badger, and not just because they're the biggest and most fearless badasses in the Animal Kingdom.
When they go for the larvae of African honey bees, they stay in the fucking hive while they eat them, ignoring the thousands of bees stinging the shit out of them. And I saw a clip of one getting bit while it killed a puff adder, and the only effect the venom had on it was that it collapsed... only to wake up a couple hours later and go right back to eating the damn snake.

I'm totally going with Wolf. Epic teeth, thick fur, improved eyesight and hearing. :D

Plus, I would be able to sleep comfortably in awkward positions :B

I'll take:

The wings of a bat (human sized of course)

The Fangs of a lion

And eyes of a hawk.

retractable scorpion tail

In other words:

MANTICORE!

EDIT: of, and lifespan of a tortoise please.

EDIT 2: actually, Phoenix lifespan please.
