Rejoice, most likely. Unless I turned into a nasty specimen, which is likely considering I'm not the prettiest of guys.

I dunno, do mental faculties change as well? Maybe I'd get more outgoing, and do stuff I normally wouldn't...like go to clubs, dancing, etc. Try to get free stuff, and meals from people. ;) To be honest though, I have no idea what I would do in such a situation. Really would like to become a socialite though, and that might give me the kick I need.

Also, Galdon, you're a bigot, try to learn something for once instead of spouting your hatred for things you don't have the intellectual fortitude to understand
Bigot = actually putting thought into a subject matter, thinking out the possible motivations and reactions of two sides in typical sense. adding in disclaimers about exactly what assumptions are being made. Repeatedly saying that the 'problem' comes mainly from a small group of people and not everyone in a group, and trying to remain as civil as possible.

Apparently the definition of Bigot changed quite a bit since last time i looked in a dictionary..

I've read your original post and while I don't completely agree with snowy, since if I'm honest, it's people who are always looking to argue and prove others wrong which give gay people a worse name (Sorry, he may not have meant it like that but that is how it has come across). But, he has some points:

1. You seem to claim that transgender people will have surgery to be the opposite sex not because they feel they should be the opposite sex, but because they feel they are submissive in the case of guy, or dominant in the case of girls. (I may have misread it, but that seems to be what was said) I'd just like to say that is nonsense if you did mean that, my gf is very dominant, but she doesn't want to be a guy.
Transgender people actually think they were born the wrong sex/gender/how ever you want to say it, it is ultimately that they feel they were in the wrong body for them.

2. You claim that they trick people into liking them, this isn't the case, many will tell people before anything happens, those that don't say do it for one of two reasons, either they don't feel the fact they were the opposite sex defines them or they think of it as they were always this sex (Since in their mind they were), Or it is because telling people they were the opposite sex can cause a lot of hatred, confusion or insults, it is in effect the same thing most gay people are worried about when they tell people.

But you may not have meant your post to say those and I could have misread, since I am fairly tired right now. If I have, sorry for wasting your time.

Honestly? I would probably freak out that I no longer had any girl-bits. I'd also be questioning how long it lasted, or if it was just for the day. Now, if someone left me a note and said they did it for giggles and it was temporary, then I would semi-relax and see if I could get my husband to give me a reach-around!

But on a serious note, I'd be concerned for the effect it would have on my daughter. I mean, how do you explain to a 3yr. old that mommy is no longer a mommy; but a daddy?

After the obligatory 'exploration', I'd go out and start a reality comedy series about female video game characters a la Mega64, but with more sexy.

Sorry, cant think of anything else worthwhile. But I always wanted to dress up a girl in gothic-lolita-steampunk outfits. That would have to be the second thing to do, after/during curing cancer.
Oh oh! Also, I would like to take over a certain image board....
Damn it, I spent too much time thinking about this. Time to go lift weights and punch things.

Yeah that's not what I was trying to say at all;

For the first; I meant that the ideas of male/female in sexuality is psychological. for example 'she was the man' is a phrase that actually means 'she was dominant'. the correlation between gender and sub/dom is becoming outdated but in language still exists at this point.

the second, I have said at least 2-3 times now, and even stressed in the original post, that not all transsexuals do that. It was some small group of transsexuals that decided to lie, and it caused an over-reaction that caused a blanket hatred to be placed on the entire group.

I am getting the feeling the problem here is what MovieBob mentioned in the video 'Correctitude' that explaining the cause of one group's overreaction which is bad, is somehow considered the same as defending it or supporting it. the only thing I want to defend is the ability to say 'gender' without being screamed at for being some sort of bigoted hellspawn.

Then, I am sorry for misunderstanding, I think I understand what you actually mean now.
I personally feel that I have never met or seen any transgendered people that are part of this small group, but I don't doubt it probably exists.

So again, I'm sorry for misunderstanding your meaning and for wasting your time, it seems we are actually in agreement now that I understand what you were meaning.

Edit: And I agree that we should be able to say gender or sex, they have been used to mean the same thing for a long time and the only differences are in scientific cases, not in every day meanings. So while they are scientifically different things, they are the same thing in common language, and the context they are used in tells us what they mean at the time.

I really can't see my life changing all that much, aside from maybe my first name there really isn't anything going on right now that would change if I swapped genders.

Truthfully? Play with my new boobs. Then hate my life. Nothing against girls, I'm just not prepared to be one of them. They don't make a whole lot of sense to me now, so assuming I'd have to learn how to be one... Not a fan of that idea.
