Okay, so your brilliant strategy is to go on a suicide run as you use a piece of equipment no where near being finished. I like it! The explosion might give a few Spartans heat stroke since they're in heavy bronze armor.
Now as for myself... Spartans have their shields and armor, so even modern firearms have questionable usefulness. I'd have to get inventive. First i'd go for an Milkor MGL. Bronze armor will do fuck-all against explosives, and the juicy bit of it all is that i can use HEDP rounds, CS gas, or 0000 buckshot to make their armor seem like it was about as useful as bringing a condom to a knife fight. Other than that though, i'd want a weapon that can be effective OUTSIDE of the Spartans weapon range while at the same time being mobile enough for me to outflank them. The SAM-R, or Squad Advanced Marksman Rifle, uses a semi-automatic configuration and a scope along with a large 20 or 30 round clip. No sniper rifle, but at the same time, with such harshly restricted peripheral vision and heavy equipment, the real trick is to just use your head. If they go into a phalanx, i can use my grenade launcher. If they break rank and i can target individuals, their armor will be even more of a hindrance as they have a blindside wider than my ass.
