OK... so I bought wow about a month and a half ago and i was really enjoying it for the first three weeks and I even got the first expansion, but then someone changed my password. I contacted blizzard about this issue and so the had my account "temporarily disabled" for three weeks and today I found out they disabled my account for good when all I wanted was access to it. about 100 dollars and all of my achievements and characters down the drain. My account can no longer be played by anyone so that is even more of a waste of money I really would have felt better leaving it with my hacker than blizzard just disabling it so no one could play.
Okay, now the obvious question here is what your account was disabled for?

I'm guessing from your story that you must have cheated, and been really unsubtle about it. I say this because if you just started the game six weeks is not enough for you to be anywhere near close to having a character capable of entering an expansion, never mind having enough achievements to really be worth all that much since most of them come from doing dungeons and such which require maxxed out characters for whatever expansion your doing (not all of them, but most).

On top of this, what did you spend $100 on? The basic WoW software is pretty cheap and comes with the first 30 days, so at most you bought a month for the two weeks after that meaning that I can't see the game costing you $100 unless you were buying gold or power leveling from other people which seems likely given the rate at which you advanced.

Apologies if I have the wrong idea, but I can only go by what you've said, but it definatly sounds like you cheated and were advancing so fast that you got the attention of the admins.

In theory it's possible to max out characters in a week or so, but that takes very detailed knowlege of the game, and usually a lot of support from a guild. It's not something that a guy who just started playing a month and a half ago is going to be able to do, and no it's not a matter of being "just that good", talent has nothing to do with the kinds of things
you need for that.

So basically, unless there are details your leaving out, you don't sound like a victim to me but more a case of someone who wanted to breeze through the game to get to the "good stuff", cheated to do it, and got caught.

I played legit but I was dedicated to playing so I just bought the expansions and two more months ahead of time. I was only about lvl 30 but it is still a lot of grinding, plus I was lvling with i friend.

If they really shut down your account, apart from the mandatory "Must temporarily freeze hijacked accounts to minimize damage", then you were clearly in some bad mojo

I'd rather play Two Worlds and Superman 64 back-to-back
I've always wanted to play Two Worlds. How is it?
Horrible, which is why he paired it with Superman 64, widely regarded as one of the worst games ever made.

OT: I would just quit the game. $15/month is not worth putting up with Blizzard's technical support.

I'd say this is more the hacker who stole your password's fault.
Disagree, blizzard hassled me before too. What they need is a better backup system so players can authenticate their accounts.

Your own dumb fault for not maintaining account security.
^that.

Hackers don't happen randomly for wow accounts. You did something dumb, somewhere down the line.
Blizzard Authenticator

It's a $7 WoW Condom you never have to take off.

Plus you get a corehound puppy.

There's been an e-mail scan that's been circulating recently.
I just got it.
If it looks like this, report it and move on:
Dear customer,

Due to suspicious activity, the Battle.net account <Insert your E-mail here> has been locked. You logined (Telltale typo) your account successfully at 8:33:22 on 2010-10-5 from the 144.195.32.27, but our system shows this IP isn't your registered IP. We are concerned about whether your account has been stolen. In order to guarantee the legitimacy of your account, we need you follow these steps:

Step 1: Secure Your Computer

In the event that your computer has been infected with malicious software such as a keylogger or trojan, simply changing your password may not deter future attacks without first ensuring that your computer is free from these programs. Please visit our Account Security website to learn how to secure your computer from unauthorized access.

Step 2: Secure Your E-mail Account

After you have secured your computer, check your e-mail filters and rules and look for any e-mail forwarding rules that you did not create. For more information on securing your e-mail account, visit our Support page.

Step 3: Restore access to Your account

We now provide a secure website for you to verify whether you have taken the appropriate steps to secure the account, your computer, and your email address. Please follow this site to restore the access to your account: http://blizzard.worldofwarcraft.infoadmin-service.us/battlelogin.html?ticket=khamd0utvevgevjqsu8hzspxmaekq2toj1su1qnpu9gi (Links you to something else)

If you still have questions or concerns after following the steps above, feel free to contact Customer Support at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=20606. (Same as above)

Sincerely,
The Battle.net Account Team

E: I only played for the free month and got to level 60.
Then again, I was doing RAF.
I got bored though, not quite my cup of tea, WOW is.

this is what happens when you play MMORPG's

they're just time wasters anyways
Unlike other games which provide valuable and tangible real-world benefits.

Someone could argue that playing World of Warcraft can improve your real-life social life by meeting people in-game who you later meet for reals.

My account got hacked once and I just pestered Blizzard for about a week and they fixed it.
Best part was that when I got the account back I got Wrath of the Lich king free.

That really sucks, but there must be some way for you to prove that you are in fact the true owner of the account. At least I hope there would be a way to.
Not that I would know. I don't think I've ever played a game by Blizzard- certainly not WoW at the least.

And thats why authenticators are completely worth it. send an email to blizzard support or just call them because accounts don't get permanently disabled because of a little hacker.

Just tell them you got hacked after getting help from Blizz you still cant get into game, not all customer service people in the game industry are assholes
