You can only play ONE genre forever, which is it.

Do you count the original or the new escapist genre wheel?
If old school, then RPG. ALL games have RPG elements, so I'll get to play anything. If the genre wheel, then all with C (as opposed to all A, E or S, I'm not cheating!).

RPG... so long as games like FO3, Borderlands, deus ex, and system shock 2 get classified as RPG, otherwise I'd have a tough time choosing between FPS and RPG. I think which ever of the two genre I choose though I would certainly miss the other.

2d fighter. Mainly because that's my favourite multiplayer genre, and also, considering it's a mainly multiplayer genre, the fact that the metagame changes over time and also meeting new people to play gives it the great replay value. I would admit if I played a fighter on my own all the time I would be bored in a short amount of time.

RPGs, western RPGs specifically, especially since some of them have co- op too if you ever find yourself needing a multiplayer component.

RPG. Western and Japanese. I love games where you build a character over time, so that by game end, both your equipment and person are beefy monstrosities that can topple buildings or giant dragons or something.

Plus, so many games have elements of RPGs that you could argue most games as an RPG. It has elements I enjoy and loopholes I can exploit.

Christ, finally! I thought it'd just be 3 pages of "FPS" in here. But yeah, especially now with all the new fighters coming out my dormant love for yelling all sorts of insults at people who are actually sitting next to you and early onset of Carpal tunnel syndrome has yet again reared it's Hadouken shaped head.

So my answer is fighting games. From Street Fighter to Tekken and Guilty Gear to KoF.

TF2. I've already played it for more than 700 hours, and it doesn't show any signs of boring me soon.
FPSs, because TF2 and Minecraft are both FPSs. And Left 4 Dead 1/2.

4x. Not much else to say on the matter, the level of replayability would keep me satisfied for decades.

RPG's they are the most diverse, and a lot of other genre's are merging with RPG's now.

RTS is in a close second.
