Ahh... every time I see another cute li'l hater say "Halo", I love it a little more...

OT: I'll have to think about this. On the one hand, this Cosmic Owl sounds like an interesting fellow. On the other hand, removing Half-Life would be absolutely hilarious because of all the raging butthurt on this site that would invariably ensue - but at the same time, many innovations that made FPS games what they are today would not have happened without it, meaning I wouldn't get to play some of my favourite games. On yet another hand, removing all of Zynga's games would be a blessing - but we wouldn't have had the massive load of fun we had in last year's March Mayhem (yes, it was HILARIOUS fun, at least to me).

Hrm... gimme time to think.

Captcha today: lemenex alter. This thing is almost as weird as that randomslap script I have for mIRC.

I'd take a Call Of Duty game, for the simple reason that there would soon be 10 more to replace it.

On the other hand, maybe I should remove Amnesia so that no one can ever be scarred for life from that horribly scary game of pure horrific evil. :3

Reading this thread makes me sick, how can you people even call yourselves gamers?

ugh... getting rid of a game just because you don't like it?

Well, if I had to pick one I might say Pokemon Blue, because if they hadn't done that thing where they split the monsters into different physical medium, the series might not have taken the direction of the player having to jump through a ridiculous amount of hoops to get them all in later iterations. If that hadn't happened, it might be an RPG series I'm still interested in.

Another candidate might be to eliminate the Super Mario's 25th anniversary Wii game in it's present form, hoping that Nnintendo would replace it with a GOOD anniversary pack. Hopefully it would include everything from super mario all stars, the alternate versions of the games released in arcades and different regions, the mario world games for the game boy, super mario world 1 and 2, Super Mario 64, at least one Mario Party, at least one Mario Golf, at least one Mario Tennis, at least the first Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG, at least one of the Mario and Luigi games, Mario Paint, at least one Mario Kart, at least the first Super Smash Brothers, Doki Doki Panic, the E-Reader content for the GBA mario games, and preferably some Developer interviews, series retrospectives, and in-game commentary.

Of those games, assuming they didn't go any more recent than the N64 and Game Boy Advance(hell, DS games aren't that big either), The files necessary to emulate them all would take a fraction of a gig. Wii discs hold something around 4.5 gigs, leaving plenty of room for the bonus features that any fan would demand if it was an anniversary DVD release.

This is basically another thread where people just say a game that they don't like...

Most likely a popular one as well, just because some people feel special when they hate a popular game.

But oh well, if they somehow think that "x" game is THE worst game ever made then who am I too question their motives...

I wouldn't remove any game off the earth, sure I don't like some games, but then I just don't buy them instead of complaining about it for the next couple of years. Anyway just because I hate a certain game doesn't mean everyone else hates it as well.

If people don't like a game then just don't play it, and stop complaining it really gets tiring after a while...

Half-Life

If it weren't for that, I could have become a productive member of society. Instead I'm here on a forum centered around video games.

I don't know, but I'd have it in the middle of a numbered series, just to fuck with peoples' heads.

Clive Barker's Jericho. the worst thing about it is it bears the name "Clive Barker" the same man who wrote the Hellbound Heart and Mr. B. Gone.

I would definitely get rid of World of Warcraft. Destroying that digital crack would bring some more people into civilization and the world would be rid of one addiction; those with addictive personalities will no doubt find something else to fill the void.

The army men games for creating a crap load of truly shit games, with only one or two decent games, the only one memorable being Army Men: RTS, a great example of a console RTS done right.

I don't think picking bad games is actually the best idea here.

Would have to definitely go with world of warcraft. Not that I have anything against WoW per say, but I'm hoping doing so would by extention get rid of all the WoW clones that have been stagnating the MMO market since World of Warcraft came out and made everyone and their mother play it.
My vote goes here. Wow has become this singularity consuming everything in PC gaming, leaving only a few scraps for the FPS to gobble up, while the indi market gives us a few quirky games to enjoy.

With all it's success one might assume blizzard would be turning out a whole stable of creative AAA games. But the nature of the beast seems to have limited them to keep the WoW machine going, and the occasional nice sequel to thier great series, Diablo/Starcraft.

Thier success is so huge that developers obediently follow thier formula.

Bad games teach lessons, those that forget history are doomed to repeat it and all that.

Invisible War, with a boot to the side of Warren Specter's head and the advice that he's listening to the wrong people before getting him to start again on it.

We'd probably have had a film tie in, maybe even a good one by now if it wasn't for IW.
