Using as much as possible isnt being cheap. Besides, I'm a student; this sort of mind-set is what keeps me fed for another week!
I get annoyed when a pasta shape escapes from my pot .. grrrr >:E lol

People trying to get the most of out their purchases? What madness is this? These people are clearly idiots. Please keep in mind while you may have money to throw around, other people don't. Sorry if you think I'm being harsh, but it pisses me off when people think it's ok to be wasteful when there are people out there struggling just to make ends meet.

It is okay. What, I shouldn't waste my money because someone else can't afford to? You might as well say I shouldn't go to the movies today because there are people who don't have the time.

If it is a 5$ bottle of ketchup , I wont do it...
But if its some kind of ridiculously over-priced shampoo meant to make my hair stop being a ****! naughty boy , I will spend the entire thing to the last drop.

I'm so cheap I'll not only use every drop of the shower gel, I'll actually scab off my hallmates for however long it takes until I can catch a ride with someone else to Wal-Mart to restock.

I hate to sound like a jerk, but if you really have a problem with it, just buy your own shampoo/ketchup/toothpaste. Then label them so everyone knows they are your's. Then, you can throw them away whenever you want. Problem solved.
Now i did actually consider this. It's a good idea, except i think i would give off this kind of impression...

...And that would make me look like a jerk by default. A miser who won't share, etc.

Being thrifty is good, but to be anal about it towards me (or you or who ever) is not good

Is there anything where being... um... that adjective... is?

I don't consider it straining to get the last of the toothpaste out of the tube onto my toothbrush. Perhaps I have manly hands?

As for bottles of anything, condiments, shampoo etc. I just turn them upside-down. Then I don't have to shake anything. In fact, they sell bottles meant to be upside-down now.

But yeah, I use everything. I paid for it. And I'm not all that bothered by it.

Nothing wrong with squeezing everything out of something you bought. I wouldn't really say that it makes you cheap but more of a principle with people. Like myself I wouldn't mind throwing it away but why not try and get most of it out before you just throw it away? No real harm in trying to get the most from the product.

Sure, but we're talking about getting rid of your own food.
i thought thats exactly what he said. he hated that people dont throw out their nearly empty things.

Yes, but your example if i came into your house and got rid of all your food would you call me wasteful yes? was about you throwing away my food.

Isn't that the same scenario with reversed names? It's still wasteful.
No, one's about throwing things away needlessly; another's about throwing away somebody else's stuff.

I'm pretty cheap, but there are some things that you should never skimp on. Toilet paper and laundry detergent come to mind. Sometimes, it's worth paying extra to have a level of quality.

There's a difference between being cheap and trying to save money, and what you've described is the latter. I don't understand why you would even throw something away when it only started getting low; are you too good to use the last of the toothpaste or something?
