I want to rent a game, don't know which though. I'll pick the game suggested the most. No FPS games, I'm tired of those and it has to be fairly recent to be in the rental store.

It would be helpful if you listed what recent games you already have and what genres you prefer.
Otherwise, here's a list:
Alpha Protocol
Assassin's Creed 2 or Brohood
DMC 4
Red Dead Redemption
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age: Origins
Fable 2
Fable 3
NBA 2k11
Dead Space 2
Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Heavy Rain is a pretty good movie, and one that I enjoyed quite a bit.

Oh, right, games... Uh... Uncharted 2?
No, but seriously, Heavy Rain is emotionally involving as hell.

How about... Fallout New Vegas.

EDIT: It's not an FPS, don't even bother with that.

Check out Red Dead Redemption, Fable 2 and 3, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Dead Space 1 or 2.

Also, I suggest you stay away from the Assassin Creed series if you haven't played the first one or you like story in games. They have a cool idea, but it was just played out wrong.

He said specifically no FPS games.
Last time I checked New Vegas was an FPS game.
Last time I checked it's an RPG in which you can use guns but also exclusively thrown weapons, melee weapons and unarmed and have the option of both first person and third person views.

edit: also coming from the guy who suggested ME2, RDR and Dead Space 2. I can play F:NV in exactly the same view as those games.

I'll be honest, I haven't gotten around to playing New Vegas yet, but I did play fallout 3 pretty heavily, and I've watched my girlfriend play New Vegas, and I have to say that calling that game an FPS is a large mistake: You have entirely missed the point... congratulations!

I am aware of that, but the game, for most people, is much better if played in first person for most of the time.

And the fact that you can do other things than shoot doesn't change the fact that it is normally going to be in first person, even if you can use other weapons.

Uh? Why not Nier on 360 or BS 2 on PS3?

Anyway, I'm playing Saints Row 2 now, so I'll suggest that.
