I'd pull off some real crazy stunts and random stuff at first just to enjoy my new powers but after that I suppose my magic would be really useful in improving the world so I'd help out in any way I could.

I would induce a powerful pot high to everyone in the world all at once, and then take it away 5 minutes later. After that I would go to the UN and demand drug tests of all these horrible drug users!

Something along the lines of;
Use magic to build a starship, and begin orbital bombardment.. or sell/distribute the tech behind it it to create a technological revolution for the whole planet.
Screw the laws of nature to add "anomalies" everywhere, like in the Stalker game.
Create portals everywhere, some that teleport from A to B (like your mailbox to the moon), other leads to alternate dimensions full of fun/horrible things. That should make things interesting.
Endless supply of cheese and chips, without the calories.
Make politicians trully honest. Magic is the only way.
