You Favorite and Least favorite ending to a game?

that's a bummer i really wanted to play tenchzu. i also agree with an earlier post that the rainbow six vegas endings, suck hard, extremely boring.

My favorite endings would be simply the closing levels of any Jedi Knight game because by then you will have become a truly formidable jedi.

Least favorite ending would be S.T.A.L.K.E.R in the sense that it ends at all, taking away that awesome mysterious aura and cutting short an RPG experience that should really be an MMORPG

Picture this, STALKER MMO: You just got into the server and started your new chracter you walk to the grind some boars for Wolf (probably, he always wants you to do that)...you walk and *sniped*.

Moral of the story is: don't have an MMO thats FPS...People are jerks, proven fact.

Call of Duty 4 had probably the most epic chase scene/ending with you in a car trying to escaping RPG-wielding Russian Terrorists. The AC-130 part was cool too.
Legend of Zelda: some endings were pretty epic like Twilight Princess but the rest of em were a let down from the epicness I know of Link.

'Scuse me for giving JRPG's credit here... well, the older ones anyway. Best ending, Final Fantasy VIII, the cinematic at the end was epic. Another good one was FFVII:Crisis Core, the ending was the first time in video game history that they made the Ragnaught cry... seeing Zack dying and him telling cloud that "You're my living legacy"... epic.

Worst Ending, Final Fantasy VII, considering how well the story went, the ending seemed somewhat rushed, an extra month of work would have gone a long way with sorting out the ending, still the best RPG of all time hands down though. Halo 2 and Halo 3 had crap endings and I've got to say I did not like the portal ending, loved the game but the ending made it feel just too short... I don't know, might be how I think but yeah. GTA 3 and Vice City had crap endings as did the original Lion King game on DOS... that's right I had a copy of that, what are you going to do, laugh?

The only one I can think of at the moment is Metal Gear Solid 4's ending, specifically the part with Raiden (Yes, I actually like Raiden). It was nice to see that after he went through so much, everything finally worked out for him.

The Ending on Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn was fan-freaking-tastic. And the sub-sequent expansion pack (Throne of Bhaal) had a great ending too! Also, the first Baldur's Gate ending...Sorry, I'm a huge HUGE fan of the series. Huge fan.

Worst ending? While I did hate the Halo 2 and Halo 3 endings, I'd say the worst ending, for me, is Grand Theft Auto 3. Say what you will, I didn't like it at all.

The game itself, while simple, is still fun to be fair. If you like the franchise, you'll like the game. It's just entirely left the realm of storytelling now.

I will keep pouring hate over the Neverwinter Nights 2 ending until everyone has forgotten it but me, and then I'm gonna tell people about it just so I can whine over it some more.

Good endings...several have been mentioned already, like Baldurs Gate 2, Prince of Persia 3, Mass Effect and so on. I would like to add The Witcher and Quest for Glory 2, but the latter MAY have to be judged by 1990 standards...

i`m only gonna name a game for both because i can go on for ever on that topic the game that has my fave ending would need to be....hmmm complicated one of course but i would chose the god of war, i liked it, it really made me happy. The ending i hated the most needs to be final fantasy 10, i didnt care much for the main character or any other character but whats the point on going on a big quest to kill your father then killing yourself to only see your father. GAY!!!!"

MGS:3 was an awesome ending
Star Wars: TFU had a good ending, mainly because (spoiler alert, like you care) the main character dies, but not in a "the bad guy fucked you over in the end" but in the "he gave his life for the greater good" which there is a decided lack of in games, most heroes get to go off and be brooding anti-heros which was cool the first 2 or 3 times.

Favorite would have to be Battlefield: BC. The gameplay was sub-par, but the story and characters more then made up for it.

Best: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2. ...Dont look at me like that. Just play it the whole way through, and you'll see how much your partner's attached to you...Then the bit at the end...Just the dialouge would have been enough. But the music, when coupled with the flashbacks your partner has, is seriously the most touching thing I've seen in any game ever. Seriously, that's the only game, apart from FFX, that has made me cry.

Worst: TES:Oblivion.

Martin dies, and all of the oblivion gates get shut down...And the whole province is from that point on unsure of what will happen now that there is no heir to Cyrodill...The incredible lack of closure and feeling that there was still more to be said made me feel more than a little empty ._.

After playing through this nigh impossible game for weeks straight, especially memorizing and perfecting every jump in that god forsaken water level, you beat the final boss, only to see:

My least favorite ending is the ending of Half Life 1. I thought that I got the bad ending or something. Amazing game, heartbreaking ending.
I am not sure about my favorite ending however. I liked the ending of Halo 3, but there were other better endings that I can't remember right now.

That's actually what pretty much happened in the dark side ending. Basically, (spoiler alert, you still probably don't care) The Emperor kills all of Starkiller's friends, beats him up, and then re-enacts the end of episode three where Anakin becomes Vader, except he also tells Starkiller that he'll be taking Vader's place until Palpatine decides to kill him, and the game ends with Starkiller being stabbed in the eyes by the medical droids. I'm quite glad that I went for the good ending for once.
