You get to greenlight a sequel to any game that has ever existed. Which game do you choose?

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
It introduced me to the concept of a game where you choose your solution, be that subtlety, combat, or social skills.
Beyond that it was a really fun plot that I actually wanted to see, it had really great horror stretches, amazing characters.
Most of all?
Malkavians. I love the idea of a people that see the truth of things in so many broken pieces no one can tell whether they are genius or lunatics. More accurately they are often both, the question is 'Which are they at which times?'
As a wonderful bonus they are also hilarious.

But if I can play fast and loose with the rules?
New World of Darkness as a sequel to Vampires, what I've seen of Requiem I don't favor, but Sin Eaters and Changelings in this style of game? Damn straight I'll take that.

I considered Legend of Dragoon but came to the conclusion I'd rather a remake of that not a sequel. The story seemed fairly concluded and tacking more on rarely works for older multi-disc RPGS.

I just got ninja'd on enter the matrix, I don't see why people hated that game.
Although matrix path of neo was sort of a sequel of it.
It was the funnest game I've ever played at my age though :D

War of the Monsters 2, no contest.

WotM was a brilliant little gem of a fighter, but it was overshadowed by balancing issues and poor marketing, which lead to poor sales and ultimately a commercial failure of a game.

It's such a shame as well, because it was an awesome concept of a game, with a really great game engine and some seriously good special effects to boot. Anyone who's got a PS2, a love of fighting games and a penchant for '50s monster movies should check it out.

TreadMarks. What other game has one hundred, seventy tonne tanks going up against liquid metal tanks at up to 300 kilometers per hour with scifi weapons, destroyable environments, and moon like gravity?! NONE!

I remember that game. I loved those. Reminded me of another great old game, King of the Monsters. I still remember playing that at the boardwalk near our local beach as a kid.

Good times.

Nexus 2 would be great, I loved the first game, although it was difficult as f*ck.

But what would really get my nickers in a twist (sic!), is a faithfull sequel to Thief. I liked Deadly Shadows, but after playing the first part again some weeks ago, I realized it didnÄt particularly feel like a "real" Thief.
So, what I wish for for part 4 (and what I probably won't get, because - you know - that's just how games are nowadays) would be:
- no 3rd Person
- rope arrows
- keep the in-between-missions open world style
- cutscenes as seen in Dark Project and Metal Age (the ones in DS were nice, but not even close to being dark enough)
- no dumbing down
- challenging as the first games, because that was what always scared me - you just knew you were outnumbered and pretty much everything that was in the level with you (especially the supernatural things) could wipe the floor with you
- a great story (which all the games provided, but in today's world, where Call of Juarez gets remade as a modern day pseudo gritty drug war something, it's worth a mention)
- Garret as a main character! I don't want to play that little girl from DS's ending. Seriously. Don't!

I would love a sequel to Rome: Total War, yes its still brilliant and the new total war games rock too. But I would love to return to Rome with all the new mechanics that have been introduced with the later games.

Decided as soon as I finished reading the thread title, Chromehounds. That game was horrendously under appreciated, to the extent where I see it as the greatest mech game I ever played, but I guess most Escapists most likely have never heard of it. It was made by Sega, and the server shut down last year so they could make more terrible sonic games with the money they saved. Yeah.

I also decided the moment I finished reading the title: Bionic Commando (2009). Only this time, the developers get as much development time as they need so that they can polish the mechanics and aren't rushing out the ending of the game. Oh, and have a better writer. With those, it would get 10's across the board.

Conker's Bad Fur Day 2, who do I need to stimulate / Murder to get this?!?!

Having said that, a sequel to Split Second wouldn't go amiss, nor would Dead Space 3 [which has been announced hasn't it?]
