The last time I was in a starbucks, I sat at a table next to some young women who used the word "like" 3-4 times per sentence. Whenever I hear my friends or family using "like" incorrectly, I repeat their sentence and substitute "as if," or "such as."
"I am like going to the store."
"You are as if going to the store?"
I annoyed them with it just as much as "like" annoys me, and doing that actually helped some of them break the habit.
