You have a development team of 1,000,000 people... What game do you have them create?

Elder Scrolls VI: Equestria.

Seriously though I would love to see what Elder Scrolls is like with those resources.

The other ideas are of course the obligatory Pokemon MMO: 3D active combat where you control each pokemon third person.
Then when it is the best Pokemon game ever it will replace the game boy ish series and new pokemon will be released in expansions and random patches for people to discover on their own.

The Pokedex will record the character name of the first person to catch one.

Those are the only games I could justify that level of development cost on.
Games that won't ever end.

I'd look into the JRPG or Dragon Age esq angle as well but I don't think they support as high a resource cap as something like Elder Scrolls.

Could you fathom Elder Scroll X: Nirn!?
Rather than focusing on a region of the continent Tamriel, it is literally the entire world.
Of course many of the planes of Oblivion and other dimensions would appear.

There would be a greater inter-dimensional threat that makes up the final boss of the main story with 5 forms at least one of which is 27 stories tall.

We'd have mounts, pets, companions, flight, mounted combat, flight combat, mounted flight combat, underwater cities, space cities, magic capable of replicating the Portal Gun, shrinking magic, tiny people houses hidden throughout all of the word where only people that can shrink can explore the areas and quests.
We'd have all of those filler items have a purpose, built in art tools for paint and canvas to decorate your house.
Custom clothing editors a-la APB.
Some system to renovate houses that you own, or entire kingdoms you conquer.
A lot of resources would be put into locational damage and tangible models so that wolves don't look like they are cast out of rubber when they die.
I'd take a page from Jean D'Arc, where if a dragon occupies 9 squares then a 9 square AoE hits 9 times because of the surface area.

I don't even know, name it and it could happen.

A Silmarillion open world RPG, ala Oblivion and Morrowind. It would be huge, with ALL of Middle Earth, including Beleriand, at the player's disposal. Thousands upon thousands of dungeons, quests, items.....Man. I'd go nuts xD.

I'd bring the .Hack anime into a real world virtual reality game, no more rigged combat mechanics, real motion, ah, but with a game-world-login like Digimon World 3 characters had.

A pyramid to serve as my glorious tomb, my name etched into diamond.

With a Metal-Slug Arcade machine on the side.

Shake my head and look for a software company that actually knows how software development works.

I'd just keep about 100 of them and send the rest to work on something else and give me the money so I'd have a big enough budget for whatever I was going to make. Games developed by committee suck and this would be no exception.

First off, I use my unlimited funding to create a console with insane capabilities, so that these games can actually run. :p

THEN, I devote a third of my dev team to TES6. The entire freakin' world, the daedric realms, hundreds of thousands of characters, and some actual immersion. A million people working on a TES game. If that's not awesome, I don't know what is...

This is an interesting question actually, because it could only apply to so many genres. There's not a whole lot more you could do with strategy games, multiplayer FPS loses the fun aspect when you're just one soldier amongst tens of thousands, Minecraft is already minecraft, puzzle games don't need that much dev stuff. etc.

Really, all I can think to do is RPGs and MMORPGs. :S Or sandboxy things like Red Dead and Assassin's Creed, but again they're both kind of RPG-y.

Actually, now that we mention is, I'd love to see some WoT games, or games of other great novels. I'll go with that, but only if a MASSIVE Skyrim game isn't an option. :p

pong. but the bats were taxi's. and the ball is a stickman. oh wait i already made that... um... i would make a FPS/TPS where you and your team are playing in a strategy game and one person on the team upgrades the footsoldiers and marks objectives. i think that would be sweeeeeet.

I think having a one million person crew would present more problems. Team management being a major one.

I'd make a realistic zombie game.
Define realistic
You start with no weaponry and have to find survivors, food, water and sleep. You need to use whatever you can get and if you get bit once you die. Its dead rising without bosses with F:NV's hardcore mode with MGS style scavving.

Do any of them have any talent? How about a team of 100 people instead? It would be impossible to coordinate such a project with million people.

A game set in the Warhammer 40k universe (yeah we got one coming already)
But you will be able to play every single race, and permutation of race (think of the different Chapters like Dark Angels or Space Wolves), to recreate the 13th Dark Crusade, played out in the Summer campaign described in the Storm of Chaos Codex. But also how you got there. For example, you start out as an initiate for your chosen Chapter, and have to play your live in the different ranks, culminating in a final battle where you play as the commander of your own Army.
It would probably ship on a complete HDD :D
