Question is who do you wish to meet and why.

They can be anyone from a great leader to a great historian or so on.

Mine would prob be Alexander The Great.

He is prob my fav person in all of history due to the feats he acomplished during his life.

Edit: You cant harm them or change any part of the history period

Al Capone. I have a big fetish for mobsters.

It would be interesting to follow the life and crimes that made him famous.

Good question. If you went back to meet some great ruler, what then? Personally, I would like to meet Himiko. Partially to see if she existed, partially because it would be fucking awesome to meet a fucking shaman queen.

^^I agree on this one actually
it would be nice to hear why he hated and did what he did who knows what he might respond with
Yeah, 'cause it's not like he wrote a book detailing his views or anything.

Speak Greek at all? That's always bugged me about questions like this... the language barrier. (Yes, I know I'm quibbling.)

So to answer:

If I had a Greek translator: Scipio Africanus Major; Parmenio; Xenophon; & Pyrrhus.

If I had a French translator: Andre Philidor; Jean-Jacque Rousseau; & Nicolas Davout.

If I had a Persian translator: Jabir ibn Hayyan

Otherwise: Helmuth KB Graf von Moltke, Erich von Manstein, Carl von Clausewitz, Werner Heisenberg, Arthur Wellesley, Tsunetomo Yamamoto, Minoru Genda, Erich Hartmann, Ernst Chain, Gerhard Herzberg and Rosalind Franklin.

Oh, and Henri Jomini just to tell him how much of a twat he is.

I think it would be pretty cool to talk to George Carlin.

I haven't read it myself, but you might want to try reading Mein Kampf if you're interested in what was going on in Hitler's head.

Plus it's much cheaper than time travel XP

I'd probably talk to Gilgamesh. He was one of the first kings in all of history, having ruled roughly 3800BC in Uruk, one of the first cities.

^^^^^This.

Well, either that, or go back to the crusades, get Richard I and Saladin in the same room so they could discover how many things they actually had in common and become best buds, and thereby create a future where there is unity and peace across the entire Middle East. My brilliance astounds even myself sometimes.

John Lennon. Along with Einstein. Plato, Aristotle and Socrates. Does God count...? Confucius... and I would actually have to speak all their languages as well. And Casanova and Guy Fawkes and David Caradine...

I'd torture it out of him. Even psychos believe they had a good reason to do what they did, and pushed far enough, they'll admit it.

I'd like to meet Churchill. See what he thinks of what has become of the UK.

How about historic people from the future..? (Just pointing out redundancies)

OT: I'm not entirely sure. Do they have to be historically significant? Because if not then i'd like to talk to my great grandfather. My grandma and my dad always says he was such a wonderful person and that he and i have quite a few of the same world views so i think that would be interesting.

If they have to be someone historically important then... maybe King George III of England, just to snap his neck and see how the world would look today if the settlers on the american continent didn't have to fight so hard for their newfound freedom.

Leonardo Da Vinci because he is possibly one of the most amazing people ever. Also some people say he's gay and well... I'm kinda lonely.

I would very much like to meet Diogenes of Sinope, quite possible the wisest and most honest of all philosophers.
