None. And how glad I am of this!

I joined a new group last week... and left the very next day because there were 500 chat messages that had piled up while I was asleep.

I couldn't deal with the blinking red notification... maybe that's not normal. Anyway, now I am back to my normal state of few friends and no groups, I only get important messages. Like from my actual friends :D

I prefer to see Messages (0), because 9 times out of 10 a new message is the mods putting me on probation again because they have no sense of humor. A little trolling and e-fighting adds spice to any forum, so long as it doesn't get out-of-control.

Zero.

However most of my messages come from being quoted. Only in ZP group and have its notifications turned off. Only have one friend atm.

Only Private messages ive gotten was from someone who develops games, who frequents the forum suggesting I try their stuff out.

so keeping at zero is fairly easy for me. And thats ok by me.

I had over 7000 messages, until I deleted them all.
They were driving me insane, and it felt nice to finally have no new messages >.>

Anyone else send the OP a message after reading this topic?
It was oh so tempting, but I can only imagine the hate the counter message would contain.

I've been sitting at 12 for awhile here. I read all new messages, I've just kept twelve "new" messages as reminders. I've re-forwarded myself some pictures I use in threads many times now.

0, I always read new messages because that means I may have been quoted, and my ego needs to be quoted constantly, it validates me as a person and... dear god I am a sad individual.
Quoted because I'm the same way when it comes to quotes.

Probation instead of suspensions would be nice for a change...

I have always read all of my messages, no matter what their content is. So if you want to say something to someone, I promise I will read your message, I might even respond if the message has any content in it.
I usually have 1 or 2 every time I login. Mainly quotes.

I had around 4000 odd before I finally cleared through them and turned off User Group notifications. Now I have none again, so I know when anything important comes through.

Zero

Lately I get 1-3 I check them. It's easy to control. To anyone who never get any. Join a group. You will get some.

I joined the Team Fortress 2 Group, forgetting to uncheck the boxes for messages, woke up the next day and had 452 unread messages. I immediately hunted down the settings after realising every message was just telling me someone had posted on the group forums. These messages plagued my inbox until I finally found how to remove a page at a time. Still took me 20 minutes....
