0 right now. I read any messages that I get right away and the only time they really build up is when I haven't been to the Escapist for a bit. Of course this is with most of my group chat notifications on off, otherwise I'd be flooded with messages that weren't about me. Not one. Because for some stupid reason I don't get notified if the message is directed at me. Harumph!
Yeah I'm the same way, I get pretty excited and proud for myself whenever I'm quoted. Mainly because my ego doesn't get a lot of attention and so gets overexcited about little stuff like that.

I always read (and normally delete) any and all messages I receive, the moment I get them.
I don't see why anyone would do it differently. After all; you have a message. It's supposed to be read. That's what messages are for.
I have 478 messages in the trash section though, if that was what you were asking (apparently, a lot of the older messages have been deleted from the trash section as well).

I'm currently sitting at 21 messages, all from a couple of usergroups that I didn't turn chat notifications off on because they seemed to be slow. Well, they're still slow compared to the other groups I'm a member of, but it builds up. I guess I should turn off the notifications on those two as well...

When I first come on the Escapist in the morning I make sure to read all my messages. Then I just read messages right as I get them. Never have more than 3 or so anyway.

Who doesn't read their messages? It's so much easier to figure out when somebody is trying to have a discussion/argument with you when it appears in your inbox.
