Yeah I came to the same conclusion when I found out Gabe Newell said the next HL game (he didn't call it Episode 3) would be the last of Gordon's story arc. I can't see the story finished up in an episode thats only few hours long. If this is the case, then I'm certainly happy to wait it out.Super Toast said:Personally, I don't think they're making an Episode 3; I think they're working on Half Life 3. I could be wrong, but it would explain a lot.
Calm down, no need to turn into Moviebob. HEY OH!AxCx said:Better change your avatar to a piece of cake then, you sheep! How can you even say anything like that! Not getting episode 3? BLASPHEMY!legion431 said:get Portal 2, but probably wont get Episode 3.
Me three. I find it bizarre how people refute this argument with "Nuh Uh, Valve said they are making Episode 3 next".HT_Black said:You too, huh?Super Toast said:Personally, I don't think they're making an Episode 3; I think they're working on Half Life 3. It's pretty clear at this point, at least to me anyway. It's been 3 years with no word. Valve are slow, but they're not that slow when you consider another episode would probably be less that 5 hours long. If they're making Half Life 3 it makes a hell of a lot more sense.uro vii said:Yeah I came to the same conclusion when I found out Gabe Newell said the next HL game (he didn't call it Episode 3) would be the last of Gordon's story arc. you got a problem with cake jokes?NewYork_Comedian said:Ive been waiting for the last 3 years for any news on it and thought that after L4D2, Episode 3 was next. But no, people love cake jokes more and want another portal game.
Agreed. But 'Holy crap' sounds way too un-Alyx-ey... I used to think, just after completing Portal, that it should be somehow incorporated into Half-life 3 (this was back before I knew it'd be Episode 3).Sniper Team 4 said:If you don't understand then it can't be explained. Some things just make sense to some people.PoisonUnagi said:And I don't see why people are so whiney about this sort of thing. Okay, so it won't come out for a while! Just play TF2, or Morrowind, or, I dunno, Day of Defeat while you're waiting.
On Topic: The best way for Portal 2 to end is as follows:
Chell causes some sort of time slip/warp/tear/whatever-you-want-to-call-it after completing the events in Portal 2. The game ends with her on her back looking up at the ceiling (much the way the first game ended). Off in the corner is are the letters "Bor" on what appears the be the hull of a vessel, with the rest of the letters off screen. Suddenly, a very familiar voice calls out, "Holy crap! Are you okay?"
Suddenly, Alyx leans into view, staring down at Chell (and the player). She then looks off screen and yells, "Gordon! Over here!" Gordon looks down at Chell and the screen cuts to black. The End.
What better way to announce Half-Life Whatever than to tie it officially into the Portal time line?
Well, what better way to vent than with a valve.Frozen Donkey Wheel2 said:Oh good. Another one of these. The least you could have done was named it "The Venting Thread" and made it open to any kind of quick, useless, rant. That would at least provide for some creativity and originality. This way, we'll just have a discussion about.....Well, there is no discussion. Yes, Half Life 3 has yet to be announced.......Yeah, that's about it.
Now, I usually find this really obnoxious, but come on. There is literally nothing left to say.

They've already stated that it has a "more conventional length", about ten to fifteen hours. $40 sounds about right.Drexlor said:I have no doubts that Portal 2 will come out first. Hopefully this one will last longer that 2 hours. And if it doesn't, it better not cost $60.
