I think people saw "Twilight" "Hannah Montana" and "Jonas Brothers" in my OP, and assumed I was ranting. There was a question in there, and I was wondering about it, and I found that a good number of people ignored that question and told me not to care what tweens like...

My question was: where are they? Are they really out there? I know I'm not looking in all the right places, but am I really the only one who feels like you don't really see these people?

From what I understand, the appeal of Twilight comes more from the books than the movies.

In all honesty, I don't mind Twilight. I think the story's stupid, but I do like the family of vampires and I liked how they played baseball. The love story in the movie was broken and quick, something that my cousin (who reads the books) said is stupid. From what I understand, the book gives more depth and actually builds a relationship between the girl and boy.

I was pissed that the vampires sparkled though.. =\
I do not say "Twilight" and mean the movie, I say it and mean the series of books. I don't consider the movie as an existing substance.

The books made me dislike it for a good number of reasons, but I needn't argue, you understand.

Never reead the books. The books could be a diamond farting wonder for all I know. Until I read the books, I will not state whether or not i think they're good, but...

The books are the first series big romantic series for young adults. The books are generally seen as a "more true" version of teen love and loss. Young women from 13-25 (I think) are the general target for these books. Twilight is able to give girls that forbidden fruit love story.

I guess that's why it's popular.

Oh, quite possibly. I felt they could've done so without the use of vampires though. In fact, I'd respect the woman more for it, but I feel she wanted the money, so she went for vamps.

You should probably start talking to tweens if you're looking to meet fans of your mentioned subjects.

Too old for toys, too young for boys.

Disney should drop Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers and bring back "Duck Tales" and "Darkwing Duck". I used to watch those shows as a kid, and they were AWESOME.

I have never seen Twilight, know fantastically little about the books or mythology in general, and have no right to pass any judgement on them.

...but, seriously, they suck.

Alright, I think this has been taken the wrong way; Pilfer through my anti-tween mini rants, and my question is where are the fans? I know they aren't here, poor example, yes yes; I've been all over and I've encountered about 20 haters for every fan.

@ Kiefer: Yes, they're entitled to their opinion. Am I not allowed to say I dislike theirs? Come on, double standards. Also, I don't hate it because it's popular, I was questioning its true popularity. In fact, I just dislike it for what it is. Admittedly, I used to hate it because of the fanbase, but that was before I read up on it, and realized I hated it for it.

@ Purple Rain: Refer to above statement.
I know fans of the book that are elderly ladies. Also, I find very few haters. Just the few on the Escapist. Those few seem to have loud voices and are very annoying as well.
I have not read the books so I can't make an opinion of it yet, and I feel neither have a majority of the haters.

I don't understand the hate either? I find you can be critical of something without emotion, but hate? I mean, seriously? I've never really tried to hate anything. I've never hated some sort of object like a book, nor people I haven't met.
Quit with the whole 'Them' thing man! 'They' are the fans and I must hate them for it!

There are quite a few people who admit Twilight's flaws, it's true.

But I do know more people (girls) who simply love the books and won't hear a bad word about them - Feel lucky you can't find all these devotees, they're enraging to have a conversation with

:p

Unless you hang out with a bunch of unpopular preteens, you wont see very many fans of said things.

The reason there are none here is because everyone who comes here is actualy governed by logic and not blind fanaticsism

I'm sure there are flaws but I'm too busy having fun to notice...

Who knows? It could end up becoming a very enthralling games that will redefine the very nature of MMOs and those who play them.... And the sun could also turn into a giant pacman and eat us all.

Lol my friend once found a 4GB USB with Twilight on it. He formatted it for 8 passes before he used it comfortably.

But I've also come to wonder who in their right mind would lke this crap and where are they. I think they hide on purpose so they don't get cracked in the face on a daily basis.

It's not pretty, but it's probably true.

Because these people are girls aged 11-14. Assuming you don't associate with these people then you've never going to meet people who like these things.

I know a few girls who are sheltered severely by their parents. These girls like people like the Jonas brothers because their Nazi regime style parents approve of Disney stuff.
Plus, Idk about any one else, but I think Miley Cyrus is hot. I don't care if she's 15.
