Question: why does this have to be fantasy? Gamers want to show EA we mean business? Let's start up a Kickstarter campaign to buy up 51% of EA. I think with a little business sense and a can-do attitude, we can take control of their company and force them to change their dirty business practices.

OT:
Hmmm...all of the ones you mentioned seem like viable options. I guess...I'd contact the original teams of the developers EA's swallowed up over the years (Pandemic, Bullfrog, etc.) and try to reform their companies. I'd give them some start-up money and break them loose.

I'd definitely fire Moore and Riccitello. Those fuckers need to go.

1) Keep the money mills (Madden, Fifa etc.) churning.

2) Cut online passes and all that crap.

3) Team up with the other big publishers and flat-out refuse to let Gamestop sell our games unless they give us a cut of used sales ( I realise this is either the best or worst business descision in the history of ever, but if it works, it'll be the ballsiest goddamn thing we've ever done.)

4) "EA"? Nope, "Electronic Arts".

5) Seperate the marketing department offices from the rest of the HQ and literally catapult it into orbit without warning. Get a new marketing department. Keep the catapult.

6) Buy Yager, I shall greenlight everything and anything they do.

7) Let the developers make the best games they possibly can.

8) In what ways does Origin suck? Make it not suck.

9) Get that magazine article from when Electronic Arts was just starting and paint it on the front wall of the front room of every one of our office buildings. Never again shall we lose sight of that original mission.

Top-to-bottom, left-to-right, company-wide seppuku! Last person alive does something along the lines of Ctrl+A, Shift+Delete.

It's the only way to be sure.

Congratulations! You are now the owner of Electronic Arts. Your word is law in the company and can do almost anything you want. What would you do? Would you try and rebuild its reputation? Would you break it apart and sell it piece by piece? Would you sit and watch as the building burns to the ground (metaphorically speaking)?

Personally, I would try and rebuild the reputation of the company. I would bring back some of the old franchises that people liked from years ago with new graphics and "tweaked" gameplay (leave the game mostly the same just work a little smoother). I would let the reigns become a little more loose with developers and not have such harsh deadlines that make good games mediocre at best. I would stop trying to compete with WoW and CoD and try and find some more original titles to publish.

So, what about you? What would you do if you owned EA?
Oi, DICE? You know how everyone wants Mirror's Edge 2? Here's the money, go screw the rules!

What's that? You thin we're rushing out Battlefield 4? You're right, import the assets to Bad Company 3 instead and set it up for BF4!

Ring ring... BioWare? You know how we cancelled Dragon Age 2 Exalted March? Get some guys over to that Galway branch you set up and see what happens when there's no deadline aside from, "Before we make Dragon Age 3."

...

I need more time to come up with more stuff. But yeah, that'd be where I start off. Even though I think Mirror's Edge 2 is overrated.

and i shall rule with an Iron Fist

1) DRM/Online passes, gone. anyone suggesting them be brought back will be drawn and quartered.

2) Origin shall be rebuilt, its SOLE function will be to get a game to you, it will not be required to play a game, a game shall not be tied to it, you shall not lose a game if banned
2.2) Origin shall have steam like sales.
2.3) the ELUA shall be rewritten and made to not suck.

3) The sports department shall not turn out a new 'game' yearly, they shall make the updates via DLC for no more then $5 US

4) developers shall not make games that 'appeal to everyone', every genera has an audience, and only they shall be catered to

5) anyone suggesting multi-player for games it has no justifiable place in, will be burnt at the stake. inversely, if the game has no justifiable single player, it shall not be made as well.

5.2) games that have single and multi-player shall not have one mode suffer due to the others existence. a team will be founded who's sole job is to craft an excellent multi-player experience with out drawn resources from the single player

6) developers will not be under any 'time crunch' to get the game out, not quiet Valve time, but lots of room to breath and make something worth while.

7) any MMO proposals to pass my desk that read 'like WoW but' will be shredded, incinerated and the person who brought it will be knee capped, if the person who delivered it is just a messenger, the person responsible will be found and knee capped.

8) advertising will be done with tact, any one suggesting an add campaign like Dead Space 2 or Dante's Inferno will be fed to a school Piranha.

9) riskier titles will be allowed to be made, with 'risky' defined not only by be a departure from the 'norm' but content wise as well

10) customers shall be valued so long as they are able to remain civil with staff, complaints will be heard and reviewed, and staff will keep the customers updated. if the person filing the complaint is incapable of presenting they're problem in a civil manner, they will not be heard.

these are my commandments, follow them and know my grace, defie them and know my wrath

I wouldnt do anything to benefit gamers. I probably wouldnt be playing alot of videogames after becoming a millionare afterall. Id just do the normal rich people stuff, buy a big house, sports car, a mountain of cocaine and after it all becomes boring I'd OD.

I'd maybe attempt to rename the company to move away from the bad image "EA" has. Then proceed to reverse every crap thing they've ever done to gaming.
I roflmaod so very very hard...

1. Apologize to the world for ruining 'Dante's Inferno' (Speaking personally I can't tell you how much I blam this piece of crap. It's gameplay is good, but everything else just ruins the original story of Dante and turns him into a muscle bound retarded version of Link, with 300 percent less cuteness.)
2. Sell 'Ea Sports' to someone else and fire Peter Moore. I refuse to have any company under my reign to produce the same game every year with little to nothing to change aside from extremely small graphical adjustments.
3. Give American McGee some actual money and advertise his product instead of letting it become known by pure word of mouth. Also give that guy an effing medal. If Alice 3 sells well enough, start production for a movie trilogy based on the game.
4. Apologize to the world everything bad EA has ever done and hold a Online Pass Burning on June 6 at 6 pm in which we ceremoniously burn online passes. At 6:06, declare online passes to be a thing of the past. Destroy origin and the need for an online pass, and declare Mirror's Edge 2 to be in production.
5. Have syndicate remade into an actually decent game instead of another stupid fps shooter.
6. Behead the previous CEO and upper management committee in a live event for the world to see.

Can't think of anything else right now.

I would give Bioware complete independence in regards to decision making, game design, timelines and internal matters. I would also rebrand the studios that had been set up by EA to cash in on the bioware name (eg; the studio making the new command and conquer).

I would try and increase Origin popularity by adding more third party games, adopting reasonable pricing (Universal pricing would attract many customers from Oceania and Europe away from steam), holding frequent sales (and a few freebies to attract new users) and adding new features to the service.

If Origin became profitable enough it would ease the pressure to excessively monetise games (no more Day 1 dlc and more substantial dlc instead of endless item bundles.)

More emphasis on quality control (no dodgy PC ports).

Better communication with consumers and more respect towards other publishers (no more attacks on Valve for instance).

Buy back the system shock ip, release system shock 1 and 2 on gog , have a HD version of both made, and then call up Visceral Games tell them to change the ending of dead space three, and reveal Shodan made the markers after the end of SS2.

what? you can't judge me, I gave you system shock 1 and 2 in classic and HD format, and frankly it'll make more sense than whatever Visceral Games make the origin to be.

Maybe I'll go further and order an extended directors cut extra awesome ending for Mass Effect 3, tying shodan into that too.

So yeah that's my plan, make shodan the main villian of three universes tying them altogether and causing huge continuity problems.

Privatise the company, that is get it off the stock market, and set about making quality games.

I'd try and get Origin made into a genuine Steam competitor - with fair pricing and sales along with less invasive snooping.

Then I'm getting a sandbox game set in the Mass Effect universe done, probably set on Omega.

first I would have the entire marketing division executed by firing squad the secon I gain control. Secondly I would bring Pandemic studios back and have them begin work on Battlefront 3.
