I just finished Portal. Yes, I've seen the ending before, and all that. Thing is, I bought it about a year and a half ago, and have had it installed, have played it, but got stuck on Chamber 18 (I couldn't get the timing right). Something got into my head during the week that made me REALLY want to finish it off, so I loaded it up yesterday, hoping to jump straight in where I left off. That's when I was reminded of the fact that I had done a system wipe, and my savegames were gone. 'No big deal,' I thought. 'I've gotten that far before, I can do it again.' So I did. And then I went on and finally completed the game today.

Of course, that was just a little bit of irrelevant backstory that leads into my point:

The Point:
Have you ever gotten frustrated with a game, or had a new game come along and distract you, so that you set it aside, but then, at a later stage, found yourself thinking "Man, I really should finish that game" ?

And, as a secondary question, how long have you set aside a game for before completing it (One's you haven't completed don't count)?

EDIT: OK, Games you've still not finished count too...

i have 2 games to still complete, shadow of the collusus, and loz:link to the past. both of them at the last bosses, which are rage inducingly hard.

edit: about ganon, i want to clareify that it wasn't that he was hard, it's just that he kept knocking me down the sides again and again and it pissed me off.

Yes, I have thought "Man, I really should finish that game" with almost 90% of my games. There is SO DAMN much I haven't finished yet...

I don't think I ever stopped playing a game b/c I got frustrated, but I put off games A LOT. I still haven't beaten Dead Space or Batman: AA.....I'LL DO IT EVENTUALLY. :(

I've never finished Call of Duty 4, I guess I just never really got into it enough. However right now I have an unfinished gfame of Dead Space floating around that is making me feel guilty. I don't like leaving some games unfinished.

American McGee's Alice so much right now. That had happened with FF12 for a long damn time too. I was on the last dungeon for who knows how long and I never got back to playing it. I did finally beat it, but only after 2 years of doing nothing.

Assassins creed, got it 2 years ago, still at last level. May faith in bad story telling be with me soon.

Star Ocean bought on a whim because it was cheap! the central character has the same name as me but it gets sooooo emo. And the bloody cutesy anime nonsense makes me feel quite nauseus!

Nope, 666 posts. I changed my avatar to Evil McPiggerson to celebrate. This post ruins it, but I'll keep it up until 700 :) I just loves me some animatedness.

Wind Waker

When they told me I had to go sailing for 8 parts of Triforce, I said 'fuck you, game' and stopped playing.

I never beat the last boss of Golden Sun 2, I don't feel any hige motivation to do so as the ending is pretty obvious.

A long time ago I didn't pass Silent Hill 4 for a long time, this was back then when it really scared me (at 13) and I was extremely intimidated when your apartment is breached by ghosts and it is no longer a safe haven.

But as of now I still haven't beat Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. But that is because I proudly refuse to beat a game that has me grinding forever just to acquire a damn soul that will allow me to progress. That Piece of shit forced me to go to GameFaqs!!

If you got through Turtle Rock you can beat Ganon... he's not as hard as some of the other bosses in the game. Don't give up when you're so close!

Just be patient at the beginning and dodge his attacks, swiping only when an opportunity presents itself.

When he breaks the floor, just hang about by the bottom of the screen, light the torches and then fire arrows at him. Once you work out the strategy it's not too bad.
