I would find whomever wrote that rule and punch them in their stupid fucking face (even if they're dead).
And then wait for the government to fix it. Because they have no reason not to fix it (apart from idiocy).

I'd hide in my room and wait for it to be renewed, evading my sister, mother, and father at all costs, for fear I'll get my head blown off by all the backlash.

I'll treat the scenario as its Australian women who have lost voting rights, since that is where I live. Of course there would be a ton of protests, but I honestly don't give a shit about voting so I can't say I can really see what they're missing out on. If I woke up in the morning to find out that men in my country have lost voting rights I'd just roll over and go back to sleep.

I know its not about the voting rights, its about the equality, I'm all for equality but if the government wants to make up some bullshit that men and women aren't equal then so be it. I don't agree with it but it needs to become my problem before I'd do anything about it. I'd throw my vote to whichever puppet says they want to give women their voting rights back but protesting about it is just too much hard work. Hell, if they took away men's voting rights I wouldn't do anything about it either.

The only way women will lose their right to vote is if human civilization collapses entirely. This scenario is entirely bonkers otherwise.

This is like asking what would you do if the Earth was trapped between two black holes on opposite sides of the planet....

Personally i wouldn't care . I see why people would . Me , not so much . I don't really believe in democracy to begin with . Sure it's a good idea , on paper , in practice , not so much , kinda like communism . It just happens to be the least bad option .

Also i am a man ,so women not voting doesn't affect me , hell if they took away mens vote , i wouldn't care either . Hell i'm black and if they said black people can no longer vote i wouldn't mind ( in all honesty i actually think it could be a good thing in a way ) .

As you could have guessed by now , i don't vote , ever . Listening to people lie to my face to be elected doesn't sit well with me . What's even worst are the sheep that vote based on if a person is conservative/liberal and nothing else . What's even worst are people that have no idea that politicians are just saying whatever is necessaryto rally people to vote for them like sheep . The day that i see a honest politician that says what he believes in and doesn't make petty attacks on the other party ,regardless of what people will say/think about then , is the day i'll vote . I think for things to Actually change , we would need no one to go vote to show politicials there is actually a problem. Unfortunately that will never happen .

I hate politics.

Heh, I'd just break out the popcorn because that situation would be an absolute joy to watch.

Granted this sort of situation is incredibly unlikely because women make up the largest voting block in the US, I don't think there would be many people if anyone who would actually attempt to enforce that change.

I think the legislators would run as fast as they could back to DC anyways to reaffirm the amendment. Failure to do so as quick as humanly possible would result in a large portion of the incumbents losing elections, and I think they'd know it. Probably end up in a shitstorm of legal wrangling over procedure laws and stuff, as well as figuring out the disposition of early ballots already cast by women.

If it were Canada (and I live in the province that first got women the vote, before the US), I would probably join in with all the other women who suddenly decided that we wouldn't pay taxes. As losing the vote would probably mean we were no longer considered "persons", I would up and stop paying for things. ... And then odds are instead of fixing it the Harper Government would start taking away all property that used to belong to women since they couldn't own any anymore.

Well seeing as you have the option to vote for Rich Idiot A or Rich Idiot B I really wouldn't be that bothered.

They do what they want anyway with only token gestures to appease the electorate if things get dicey.

I'd be jealous. That's one less day every 4 or so years that the "other" sex has to take the time to go out and put a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper and put it in a box.

So yeah, I'd protest, but it wouldn't be to restore the vote to women, but to take it away from men too.

This is all part of my larger question of, just when is it ethical for one to rebel against their own government?
In the US, it's not just ethical, it is the sworn duty of every citizen to give the government hell. That's some of the reasoning behind the first and second amendments.

No shits given basically.

And if it happened here, the government would be overthrown faster than you can say "oh snap"

They should just take away men's votes while they're at it.

It's not like the popular vote has ever meant anything.

Decide issues via boxing match.
Clearly the election should be decided in this:

Two men enter, the President leaves.

If it happened in America then the Republicans would try to keep it that way. If I lived in America and it happened I'd rebel and start killing rich Republicans. Doing that would save me buying Dishonoured...

I don't know... I'm just in that mood today.
No. Just... no. The "war on women" meme is just that - a ridiculous meme with no realist basis.

In reality, it would take all of five minutes before both Obama and Romney were on the stands demanding emergency action. Another ten before the executive order was signed reversing the escape clause. The only fallout would be over which side got there first.

The same thing would hold true if it weren't two weeks before an election. Nobody in American politics or America in general wants to see suffrage - of any sort - reversed.

Not American but if it was in England then I'd become a guerilla warrior and start bombing places, hopefully not killing anyone...Or I could protest or I'd just leave, just get out of my country because I'd be sickened by this shameless display.

Heh , i hope you don't assume my reasons are good . In all honesty , i think only educated people should be able to vote. Seriously , no voting until you got a degree from university . Why? Because it would assure only educated people would be able the affect country's future . Black people rank amoung the lowest in terms of education in the U.S . Not a perfect system since you can educate yourself without going to school, but an effective way nontheless .

See obama won last time , because he was black . You everyone thought he would lose because he was black , which would have been true IF the same number of people voted , as in previous elections . But the numbers of people who voted that year went up . Why ? Because all the visible minorities who never used to vote , voted for him BECAUSE he was black . I don't know if you remember the day when it was announced that he won , black people were celebrating everywhere . Something that never happened before. It was nuts , i never seen so many black prople in my life . The color of his skin was his saving grace . Now i am not bashing obama , just stating that it was his skin color that helped him last time ( i think it will work against him this time but whatever ).

As for the men and women i honestly don't think it would change much. I don't have any numbers , but i really don't think men and women think differently enough for it to actually change anything . It's more about giving the people the impression of having a voice rather than being able to make a difference . It's an illusion that get's people rallied up . Politics and elections are just massive popularity contest , kind of like voting for prom king and queen at highschool but on a greater scale .

But this is my opinion , take it with a heap of salt .... And vinigar

It's kind of depressing how many people wouldn't give a shit if over half of the population lost the right to vote.

First of all there would be serious questions about why there was an expiry date on female voting rights. Secondly, I'd be marching and protesting pretty much instantly, as would most sane people.

Also, I'd love to see The Escapists reaction if it was the male vote taken away.
There would be no reaction because even if male voting rights were taken away, the issue would get fixed almost instantly. As a male I wouldn't even bother to protest, the issue would be that trivial :p

I can say I highly disagree with your "don't let the blacks vote", it's a bit generalizing in my opinion. Should re-word it to: "Only let people who judge a candidate based on their political opinions vote", this would also go for all the Romney-lovers who are in bed with him, because he will make America a "Christian Nation" again (which is a fucking lie, it never was a christian nation, such stupidity I can't comprehend).

But I do somewhat agree with your edcuated people thing. I myself will not vote when I get the chance, simply because I feel (in the country I am in) that there are too many choices, and I don't wholly disagree with one another, and I feel those intellectually superior should make that decision for me.
With that said, nothing is a democracy if you don't allow ever person to vote, that creates inequality and inequality =/= democracy.
