Just a question concerning Halo, not any specific Halo: Reach, 3, 2, 1 whatever.
But my question is this; why is everybody so kick-happy?

He's my scenario:
I'm playing halo reach, game of invasion, having a good time. I'm driving a warthog whilst my brother guns and we get stuck, the grenade explodes causing our vehicle to fly across the map and in the process a team mate of our is hit by it and dies.
My brother and I are immediately kicked from the game.

Stuff like this has been happening to me since Halo 3 came out and to be honest I think it's stupid, why would someone purposely put their team at a disadvantage just because they have the option to?

Because they don't like being killed obviously...

I boot if I think it was incredibly stupid or on purpose. If it was a blatant out of control accident I'll let it slide.

Because people are playing a game and they just want to get back to playing. Halo is rather hectic in that we can't really tell in most cases if the TK was deliberate or accidental so most people err on the side of caution and kick team killers.

personally i never boot anyone the first time they kill me because it could be an accident but if it happens again they can say bye bye to their game completion bonus, its better than having griefers who just kill you and all they get is less points for it when they should actually be punished

Griefing works both ways in my experience. Some people will go around tk'ing for lols, some people will kick genuinely accidental tk'ers for lols.

Live with it or make your own server.

I've played online to be booted for killing the guy, who ran the server, once!

I've been betrayed 3 times and haven't had the option to kick the moron, yet when my friend accidently betrayed our team-mates because there were 3 enemies on their position (and he blew up the vehicle they were in) we both got insta-kicked (we were on splitscreen online just to clarify)

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday as well. I threw a plasma grenade at an enemy just before one of my teammates killed him. My teammate then runs up ad stands on the body which has a plasma grenade stuuck to it. It kills him, I get kicked for someone elses idiocy.

There's one simple reason why this happens. The majority of people are complete dicks, and the internet only makes it worse.

It depends on the people you are playing with. Some assholes just want to kill things, and they don't expect team members to shoot back like an enemy.

I always give 1 forgive, if you intentionally kill me 2 times your gone, but I let random incident go by.

EDIT:

Bungie should put in something to boot a character only after they've betrayed several times, not just once on accident.
The exact same thing happened to me today. I got out of armor lock and immediatly swung my sword, at that moment the person died and my sword swung directly into the cerebral cortex of my ally. Fortunatly though he knew I didnt mean to so we were cool.

Why do they boot? Well, some of them purposely get themselves betrayed by jumping on grenades, so they can boot team members, as my best friend discovered >.>
I got booted for one accidental betrayal on Firefight, on the Rocket Fight game type. One accidental betrayal. My best friend had betrayed the other played, and myself, a dozen or more times on purpose. I made one mistake, and took the hit for my friend...
Still, sent the person who booted me a sarcastic message...
Edit: Oh, and the only person I have booted for betrayal is my best friend, either for revenge against his betrayals, or because he has to go so low as to tea-bag...

This basically. :p

I've been team killed before but I usually let them off, I don't see the point in kicking them because it's putting us 1 player down, unless he's TK'ing everyone.

Also, you're playing Halo on Xbox Live, it's a tarp!

So, I'm just walking along, doing my thing, when I get fucking killed out of no where. It tells me some asshole has betrayed me.

So, yeah, I'd kick you too. Because I don't know your side of the story, all I know is that I'm dead and the game is telling me you did it.

EDIT: However, I sometimes have mercy if it's blatantly an accident. Like a flying warthog.

I nearly booted someone by accident. The option just pops up. I believe it's X to boot. X is also reload. Yeaahh....Not the best idea

I need to be tked like 4 times. Before I get angry, still I let it slide if it's not on purpose. That is because I know everyone has unlucky days. I have many, hopefully my example will let others know if I tked it's wasn't on purpose.

nb This is on games with smaller numbers.

On big servers I know everything is just crazy and I don't care what happens. Nades, nades everywhere lol.

If it's a purpose TKer I just let the rest of the team to decide the fate of them.
