This is something I hope bungie will change for reach. I think there should be an option for betrayls only after the 3rd betrayal of a match (1st time an accident, 2nd time just bad luck, 3rd time very unluckly or team killer).

Just a question concerning Halo, not any specific Halo: Reach, 3, 2, 1 whatever.
But my question is this; why is everybody so kick-happy?

He's my scenario:
I'm playing halo reach, game of invasion, having a good time. I'm driving a warthog whilst my brother guns and we get stuck, the grenade explodes causing our vehicle to fly across the map and in the process a team mate of our is hit by it and dies.
My brother and I are immediately kicked from the game.

Stuff like this has been happening to me since Halo 3 came out and to be honest I think it's stupid, why would someone purposely put their team at a disadvantage just because they have the option to?
Well, its probably worth getting kicked to see your flying warthog kill someone from across the map.

I don't kick people until the second or third time they kill me. Even then, if we're doing something like Rocket-specific firefight I won't kick. I actually have a cool betrayal video on my file share of me using my jetpack be being sniped in the head during a firefight.

I have kicked someone for killing me to get my weapon though. That jerk.

I kick if the option comes up, because here is my story...I was playing a match, I stuck a foe and a team member went to sword rush the person as my grenade exploded, next thing I know...booted. So Screw it I said to myself, I am going to boot anyone who i get the option to boot, even if they are in my XBL party.

Simple answer, people online are complete arses.
sums this whole topic up beautifully, most people would just rage, or do it for a laugh. Personally I don't really mind, I would just join another game.

I've been kicked for similar accidents but what annoys me more is when someone betrays you once on purpose for the weapon you have, such as the sniper rifle and since it is only once they get away with it. This is on Halo 3 however so maybe Reach has a better system.

Also, you're playing Halo on Xbox Live, it's a tarp!
Those damn tarps, ruining everything.

Never having owned or played on an xBox, I wouldn't know how bad it is, but rumors have it it's the worst place for gaming in the world, so then it might indeed be the cause =3.

Somehow, that reminds me of this clip..

And that alone is why I love to play halo.

Seriously though, Armored Core. If I have to play with one more noob who uses nukes underground in tunnels, then I'm Kojima Cannoning his ass.

Yeah, i think people are too kick happy, this one time my friends and i were playing halo 3 on sandtrap and it was a social big team game, we were in a warthog and someone aimed a spartan lazer at us so we all got out, it blew up and then some guy started brute shotting us so we all went to hide behind the destroyed warthog, i then threw a plasma at the brute shote guys direction at the wrong time and an explosion from his brute shot hitting a wall made my plasma bounce back and stick to the warthog all three of us were hiding behind, needless to say we all died and my friends kicked me before even reading who had betrayed them.

It can be bad, like I just joined a game with 4 of my friends and immediately we get insulted because we're Mancunian, and after the game (we lost) they got all high and mighty on us like we were mere peasants in their way of conquering teh spacez. We didn't even have to say anything, they were just throwing insults whilst none of us even spoke, it was quite awkward, and when the 2 second silence dropped, another insult would be thrown out there like a fish hook, waiting for a fishy to respond so they can stop looking like dicks. Quite humorous thinking about it, especially because there was an echo so it sounded like they were insulting themselves.

I prefer PC, at least if someone trolls they can be vote kicked or banned by an admin, and the worst trolls never seem to go past more than playing funky music down their mics, which I like.

Exactly, but 99% of people will kick you even if it was a blatant accident.
you know, my least favorite thing in the universe is being betrayed, especially for a weapon, but on firefight rockets when your ally is standing next to an enormous crowd of conveniently placed enemies you would think they might let it slide since they were going to die anyway

I did 2 betrayles. The first was an accident and I didn't get kicked. The 2nd was also an accident but I DID get kicked.

Because people suck? I only boot for betrayals if it was obviously intentional or they just really suck and we are better without them.

I get kicked all the time, on Halo Reach yesterday, I had an enemy in my sights, pulled my hand back with plasma grenade in hand, a teammate walks infront of me, I stick him, I'm booted.

I don't play Halo much so I haven't been involved with much betrayal. The few cases I've encountered, I've let 'em off and been let off in return.
I've kicked someone once, but that was because it was one of my friends and for the lulz. We're all dicks to each other, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
