I used to be a femenist, then I watched manwomanmyth and realized, I never really had much of a point, when defending it.

I used to be a communist. Twelve history books later, and after talking to people who actually lived in Communist Countries, I am no longer a communist.

I mention somewhere in this forum threads that I actually did liked Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword but that was the first few hours in the game in my defend.

Now that I had played and finish it all, I board on the hate train, agreeing with the other people hating it. (I did mention in another thread that I take back everything nice I had said to that game!)

At one point, I thought that Shadow the Hedgehog and other 'dark' characters were the coolest. I gotta tell ya, I'm glad that phase is over.

When I was a school, I was antagonistic to most people, mostly because I had been influenced by american teen dramas...Now I know that I was an absolute berk back then.

If I could , I would slap my younger self around the face and tell him what's what.

Oh, and I used to think that the Lord of the Rings was an awful series. As you may be able to tell from my avatar, my opinion has shifted slightly.

I used to hate Star Trek. On principle. Because back then that whole Star Wars vs Trek thing existed.
Then I hated Star Trek because it was stupid. But it was actually my friend who was stupid, who made me watch Voyager. Voyager sucks.

However, it wasn't the internet that made me like Star Trek, it was Patrick Stewart, single-handedly. I loved him in the X-Men movies, then in whatever else he was in, then I started watching TNG all the way through. TNG is awesome.

Never bothered with DS9 though or cought up with TOS or thought much of Enterprise - they don't have Patrick Stewart in them, what's the point! :D
You know, Patrick Stewart makes a guest appearance in the first episode of DS9. Just putting that out there.

I never 'got' the whole MLP thing when it first took off, and I said some pretty stupid and ignorant things.

If anything, being part of the Escapist has given me a much more open mind about things I don't immediately understand.
Like your views on furries.

Say what you will about them, at least they approach their day bright eyed and bushy tailed! :D

Indeed :D

Oh, and that pun?

That's special hell levels of bad right there.

I used to think...
Well, I used to think a lot of things. But I can't think of a single thing that doesn't boil down to the pervasive ignorance of being a kid. And honestly? I haven't bothered to remember those mistaken thoughts once I've learned better. It's all a blur confined to my memories alone and I was never a vocal enough child to voice them.

In the more recent years, I don't think there's any (relatively more informed) opinion that I've made that I'm not still willing to stand by.

Oh I'm wrong all the time. Seriously, just look up a random post of mine, and chances are I'm wrong.

I don't know if this counts, but recently I've realized that when I (and most people) say that Superman isn't a relatable character because he's too strong. Well after getting more into Superman works I've come to realize that not only are we wrong when we say that, but we're kind of missing one of the biggest themes of Superman when we say that.

I used to LOATHE Anime

I still feel that a bit but I do love some of it...I hate it because I love it..
I was like this as well. But then I discovered manga and came to realize that the manga is usually much better. Especially Shonen.

The most infuriating thing about LOZ:SS is how close it was to being great. Cut out the pointless padding, give us the bow a lot earlier, give us an option to make Fi a mute, get rid of the motion controls... You know, it is like every part of the game was almost amazing, but they screwed each part up individually with bad decisions. Everything was so close to being so awesome.

Plenty of times people have convinced me that i was wrong.

Typically this was when using incorrect facts myself (failed source check) or they bring in viewpoints i forgot to consider. I can't remember any cases specifically, but it has happened a lot. I'm not above admitting i was wrong.

At least DVS will be joining me.

And since I'm consigned there already, now I can talk in movie theaters to my heart's content!

I felt like I should just quote this since I was going to say the same thing anyways. I couldn't have been more ignorant and stupid than when I used to poke fun at bronies back in April 2011. Oh sure, there have been a few other stupid/silly mistakes I've made on the forums (like the time Andy Chalk pointed out that I had completely misread on article he made and helped me correct myself) but this one is something I will always remember.

P.S. Sorry for "using" your post again Daystar. Hopefully I won't have to do that again. =3

Don't worry about it.

If anything, I can always be used as a bad example :D

I used to think spinach was disgusting, and then I had Spinach and Artichoke dip.

That shit is delicious! :D

Also was the same way with avocados, but I discovered guacamole. My love for Mexican food grew many many times that day.

...what?

OH! You wanted some serious answer, didn't you?

Well, I'm normally wrong about certain things, but I can't be bothered to list them all, I'd be here all day.
