Your Anger Towards Young Gamers

About the screaming kids thing.
Getting fragged or a HS with an AK from the far side of Dust 2 tends to get a little annoying after 13 times. Most ´adults´ have learned over the years to channel their anger and frustration and just put up with. Youngsters lacking this vital piece of education grab their headset and just go ape.

I think it's because of the angry kids screaming over the in game voice thing.

I really don't know why this thread has more than this one post, since it's all there. Note, however, that I'm hardly that much older (I'm 18), but yes, I find screaming, cursing, whining little kids annoying. Sue me.

I hate the loud mouthed, annoying, little kids constantly not trying NEW things that are better then the latest FPS. Again, my problem, if it doesn't have the best graphics then the previous game they played, they won't TRY it, and when they do they complain. Hell, I had two friends who wouldn't try Minecraft OR the original Super Mario Brothers because of their graphics, the best indie game in the past generation or so, and the more influential start of a series in todays modern gaming.
I bet I have to say MY OPINION before every sentence too before I get butt fucked by someone with a different opinion, but I don't care.
Then the ones that DO try it don't shut up about it, which is fine, but again, THEY DO NOT TRY anything new, and when they do they either love it and ditch EVERYTHING else, or complain.
Online, kids shouldn't even be ALLOWED to own mics, at least until their respectable, nice people. 1 kid can KILL a server faster then a troll, and 5 of those little shits INSTANTLY ruin a game. Its just.. ITS JUST THEIR SHITS! NO MICS FOR KIDS UNTIL THEIR RESPECTABLE, YOUNG ADULTS!

I wanted to mention the graphics for a moment. I have a friend (A girl OMfGBBQ) and she plays games like Halo Reach but she won't even try Minecraft because "the graphix suk LOL" I actually have a bit of resentment towards my own kind because reasons like this. A friend will give me his gamertag and I'll find out he has 5 games, all shooters, and "HOSTS 8TH PRESTIGE LOBBIES LEGIT". Thanks for mentioning the graphics and ur a kool cat too

Well, I don't play online with people I don't know, and I don't immediately judge someone for being a teenage gamer (hell, I was a teenage gamer fifteen years ago. Fun fact: I'm twice your age, OP)... but I do tend to pull my hair out (as if I could afford to, my bald spot is already huge) over what I perceive as "XBox generation" gamers.
The changes to a few genres and the standardization of certain gameplay mechanics within said genres that happened with the popularization of Microsoft's first console has actually put me to arm's length from them. I actually used to like first-person shooters. Now the only new ones I can stand are RPG hybrids.
I don't mind that these new mechanics exist, or that people like them... but I do mind their near-complete saturation of the market. I guess I'm just a gaming dinosaur, and I should be happy my old shooters still work... but the only pure shooter I play anymore is Unreal Tournament. The first one. Over LAN.
...and don't even get me started on third-person action games turning into third-person shooters.... ugh.

Stereotypes are unfortunate and I feel for you, but at least from reading that it comes across that you are an exception to the rule, so bravo there.

For me though, I tend to go by the individual not the age. I've gamed with some younger people who have been some of the greatest people I've had the pleasure of gaming with.

I've also played with some older people who I'd never wish to hear from again and if I encounter them again in my life it would be too soon.

Stereotypes are sad things and sorry to hear your lumped in with all that. All I can say is ignore the stigma attatched to being a young gamer and keep doing what your doing, after all from the sounds of it your doing just fine.

Yeah , like other people said, kids on mics is terrible . Also kids that play videogames and physically hurt people too ( it doesn't have a connection but when a kid does both ,videogames get a bad rep). Oh and because kids like to diss older games because of graphix.

That sounds about right actually. A lot of young players *do* have those emotional skills but you don't hear them, all you hear are the ones who don't. Seems to get amplified if they have friends watching them play, you often hear them as well. (Disclaimer: there are a ton of 'adults' who don't have those skills either)

This is a honest question. I only ask you respect it. I'm 15 and I'm sure that makes some of you have a surge of anger or resentment towards me.

Same age here, broham. I play a lot of online games with my PS3 so obviously, we are going to have children making high/low pitched noises with the mic and making crude creations in Little Big Planet. That is what the mute and block button is for. I don't want to deal with some little shit saying his K/D is higher than any one elses, or showing off his 1337 ski115, I just want to play the game and have fun.

Me and you are very much alike. We buy our own games and respect others.

Idea: Create our own breed of teenage gamers that cooperate and don't complain using our own DNA for examples and growth serum. No need to say yes to the plan, I already started your portfolio.
