Dont respond I dont want to hear it. You are in your right to hate the game. by all means hate on it.
Than don't start it?
You don't get into a discussion, make your points, and then say "there, I win, fuck off" because that's a sign of immaturity as well as the fact that you either know your losing or just don't know what your saying.
One dimensional doesn't equal "not having a backstory"
Examples
Master Chief has a backstory, but in game he's still freaking cardboard (until halo 4)
Roland is basically just your general hero, even with a backstory.
These are one dimensional
Vernon Roche from the Witcher 2 is an nationalistic elf-hater. At the same time he is a loyal companion and a good leader.
Kenny from the Walking Dead game is a loyal friend and a brave man; but he's also bullheaded and possibly racist.
These are fleshed out characters.
And things cease to be opinion when the general consensus agrees on them.
The mako being as weighty as a god damn bouncy ball and the vehicles in borderlands being stiff is BAD DRIVING. Whether you like something or not doesn't make it good.
Also, plot holes aren't supposed to be explained by the fans, they are supposed to be explained in the game. If they aren't, they are plot holes.
Example
In Mass Effect 2 when the collectors show up every fan asks "Well, why didn't the collectors help sovereign in ME1?" that's a valid point about a plot hole. You can try to make justifications for it but it doesn't get rid of the fucking hole.

No, the art stealing thing is NOT OKAY; even if it's your favorite game. If someone BLATANTLY steals something it's bad, I don't care what game is doing it. And by buying the game you are allowing people to profit by stealing and abusing someone else's creativity.
Again, your missing the point. It's not interesting to repeat something over and over and over and over. By the time a meme gets into a game it's been overdone to death.
If Borderlands actually had respect for itself it'd think of NEW jokes, not inserting old ones and saying "lol we're original and random". That is the worst kind of humor.
And people go with the games you mentioned because they have good plot, or good characters, or ACTUAL JOKES. These are writers that actually did more than copy paste something off the internet and call it good work.
Good stories are ones with characters with arcs, with plots that have interesting themes or points, or memorable moments that actually have an impact.
Basically your playing the Transformers of games, that puts it in the same category as COD or Medal of Honor.
