I hate you so much GTA4, so... so... very much!

...

Now I try to be a reasonable person. I try to keep my passions in check. But some games just tick me the fuck off, so badly, that only rage and irrationality can be spawned from it.

I hate GTA4 with a passion of a thousand suns. I would be my greatest honor to have every copy of that game (which I would remove from your cold dead hands if you try and shelter it) and personally have it cast, into the sun.

I will laugh then, and be at peace.

...

lol

I hate the Source engine so much. SO MUCH.

err, why? Is it a pain to make games with or to optimize or something?

OT: Don't really have one. Can't say I really hate any games.

Star Wars: The Old Republic .... and it's mainly my fault I hate it.

I've never .. EVER .. in 30 years of gaming, hated a game as much as that one.

I admit, I was stupid and bought into the hype. I thought it was going to be a brand new MMO experience after listening to what BioWare had to say about it and I, stupidly, believed it all.

I also admit that it would have been a first rate MMO ...... had it been released in 2002.

2 maybe 3 of the 8 story lies are decent, the rest are shockingly bad. The side quests, even though they have voice acting, are still shit.

There is nothing I haven't seen before. The sad part is that older MMO's did it better, much better.

I hate it, not just because it's a terrible game, but because this is the single reason I no longer pre order games.

Now I have to wait and make sure they aren't a shower of shite before I throw money at them.

Odin's Sphere. We started as "frenemies". I mean, I love the graphics and the characters. The plot also seemed cool. But the gameplay made me hate it with the passion of a thousand suns. It wasn't that it was hard. Hard I can handle. It's just that it was unfair. They'd toss you into battle against a million enemies and only you to fight them, the enemies' attacks had priority over yours, if you were unlucky enough to walk into a battle unprepared and died, you were stuck in the same environment until you beat the enemies. So you'd respawn right there where you died, basically being forced to do it over and over again until you beat them.

I wanted to play the game. I wanted to be friends with it and run down a hill and sing happy songs. But it drove me away. It made me get rid of it because of the disappointment and anger I felt every time I'd give it a shot, thinking "It'll be different this time, you'll see!". I spit upon you, Odin's Sphere!

Oh, also, DC Universe Online. For similar reasons as the ones listed above. I thought it'd be a great game but...I was horribly wrong. The game is almost impossible to play, it's vague about the missions, it's unfair and you gotta have a big ass monitor/TV to read everything the game says. Or sit super close.
Needless to say, I can't play it on my PS3 that's in my living room at all. Gawd, I hate that game!

I got two games that have cause me to hate them so much. Most other games I my dislike in how they work or some other way, but these two games I wish never existed.

The first is an obvious one, Metroid Other M. Their have been so many posts on this game and why it is bad so I will not get into it too much, but I can not think of one positive part of this game. I hated the gameplay, control schemes, storyline, voice acting, and characterization.

The second would be Brink. It was such a disappointing game in all regards. The game was such a disappointment that all my sadness for buying this horrid thing quickly turned to anger. It was just a train wreck in general. Honestly the only positive thing to come out of this game was the hat I got for it for TF2.

Ninja'd, I have been.

SWTOR used to be my hate game of choice. I didn't hate the game itself, but the lack of originality and ambition, the uninspired world design and above all Bioware's insane egotism and endless boasting really pushed my buttons. It was never enough for them to say that their MMO was good they always had to throw in some snark about why every other MMO was doing it wrong. Coming from Blizzard this would have been arrogant, but coming from a developer with no MMO track record who had turned out an utterly shameless WoW clone it was impossible to read without grinding my teeth.

But I stress "used to be." I stopped hating on SWTOR the day they announced they were going F2P. The game itself isn't actually bad, just rather average - I even play it from time to time for the class storylines - and Bioware have been properly humbled. I feel no need to kick them now that they're down.

Mind you, I think Tomb Raider has a really good chance of taking its place in my pantheon of hate. As a fan of the series I am less than enthusiastic about the apparent direction of the reboot, to put it mildly - something that has not been helped by some of the idiotically ill advised statements coming out of Crystal Dynamics. Sad to say it may yet have to be a Day One purchase for me - if only to see if it really will be as bad as I dread it could be.

I don't really have one, but if I HAD to choose, I'd probably say Most Final Fantasy games. My girlfriend plays them, and from the voice acting, to the plot, to the character design, I despise everything about those games. And that's not including the gameplay.

The Deus Ex sequel that never happened.

I thought I had lowered my expectations enough. I knew about the hatred the original fans have had for it for years. I thought I'd be getting a fun, somewhat stealthy shooter in Deus Ex universe. It wasn't enough... I DIDN'T LOWER THEM ENOUGH!

Final Fantasy XIII.

Just... Final Fantasy XIII.

I've made so many posts about it already.

In fact, just a few days ago I went through all of the posts, took three of them and then put them all together into a response to a thread about Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels.

So yeah. That's my pick.

Borderlands series, especially the second one.

I mean, I've had fans ADMIT it's objectively bad!

The story is utter shit and laughable (So there's vaults on other planets, wow, what a twist)
The characters are mostly one dimensional
The loot system literally tricks players into liking it
The game uses meme's and pop culture references for its humor (utterly unforgivable in my eyes)
And worst of all, and I mean worst of all, gearbox steals shit and NO ONE CALLS THEM OUT ON IT
They stole their artstyle, their cover, and their FUCKING GAME OPENING

I honestly hope this game burns alive and gets shot

But it won't because apparently I'm the only one who cares about any of this, and shitty humor and laughable story is totally acceptable nowadays (especially since gameplay doesn't make up for it)

Super Mario 64. Yes, I KNOW I am supposed to, as a life long Nintendo fan, love this game and everything it does. But I don't. I beat this game two, nearly three years ago, and I have never once played it since. My loathing for it as a majority is parallel to my adoration for some parts of it.

I hate the cheap shit they don't tell you about until after it happens, namely the Buzzard stealing my hat which results in me taking double damage until I manage to hit the bird somehow and yank it back, I hate many of the stages, namely the desert level for the 20+ lives I lost in it, the clock level(GOD I HATE YOU FOR THAT LEVEL ALONE), so on and so forth. I despise how fun the hats are to use, and yet how rare it is that I can get some use out of them, I hate the enemies and its exhaustive amount of invincible bastards I can only run away from, I hate how needlessly complex it can be to get every star and every red coin in the boss stages, and I HATE most of all the unfair, cheap, frustrating, and at times mercilessly cruel Likitu cameraman, he is a SADISTIC bastard the likes we have not seen in any game ever.

And yet, I LOVE the swimming areas,Dire Dire Docks and Jolly Roger Bay had the BEST musical score of the entire 3d Mario series, yes, even better than Pianta Harbor and even better than everything in Super Mario Galaxy. I adore the special stages for the fun they allow us to do, I love the Cave level because as a Kid I was enthralled with the Nessie area and it was even better that I could go in with the Metal Hat, my personal favorite hat of the series. I love Bomb'omb battle field for a majority of reasons, and I love some of the bosses and areas I get to play with.

My hatred for aspects of the game come mainly from my childhood frustrations with huge parts of it, it was a hard enough game as an adult, it was even more impossible as a child. In time as I get even older, I will probably appreciate it, and Nintendo a lot more as I look back on it, but for right now, I loath the game yet also adore it.

Tl:DR. I have a bitter-sweet love and hatred for this game.

I'd rather say you've had fans admitting they have no idea what objective means.

The story is utter shit and laughable (So there's vaults on other planets, wow, what a twist)
Opinion.
The characters are mostly one dimensional
Same could be said about a lot of other first person, undefined main character. Doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.
The loot system literally tricks players into liking it
I've always thought Borderlands was quite upfront with how the looting system works. Again, whether you like it or not, is opinion.
The game uses meme's and pop culture references for its humor (utterly unforgivable in my eyes)
Opinion.
And worst of all, and I mean worst of all, gearbox steals shit and NO ONE CALLS THEM OUT ON IT
Lots of games "steal" from other games. Again, doesn't make them bad. Whether they're bad or not is, an opinion.
They stole their artstyle, their cover, and their FUCKING GAME OPENING
See above.

But it won't because apparently I'm the only one who cares about any of this, and shitty humor and laughable story is totally acceptable nowadays (especially since gameplay doesn't make up for it)
Different strokes for different folks. There are lots, LOTS of much, MUCH worse games out there.

OT: Hating a game is a waste of time. If you don't like it, don't play it. Vote with your wallet. I'd rather focus my energy on games that I actually like instead of wasting it on what, in your opinion, is a bad game. I really don't understand this need to actually hate a game. It's very weird to me.

I got two .

Resonance of fate and record of agrest war : zero .

I cannot understand either game for me life . If i was threatened at gun point to complet both games , i would die 1/4 way through either one . I pride myself with being good at videogames in general . Usually , since iv'e been playing games so long , i can pock up any game and be decen at them . But those two, i suck at for some reason . Hurts my gamer pride.

Yakuza 4. I'm sure it's a good game, but I just can't get past the first couple of missions without completely losing interest and not touching the game again.

Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox.

A family member had no more need for their old xbox games so they let me have them. This "game" did everything I could imagine a game would do to screw me over and then some. The very first level just drops you into the think of it, the bosses use cheap tactics, the difficulty spikes in the game are annoying, the ninpo system was never explained etc.

After many an hour against a difficult boss and losing time and time again, I finally was winning against it perfectly not getting hit and dishing tons of damage. Then suddenly my xbox 360 turns off and flashes red.

Yes the game would not allow me to beat it and blitzed my 360 before I could beat it. Luckily it was under warranty still however I have not played a Ninja Gaiden game to this day.

Egoraptor was right about Gaiden.

Quantum Conundrum. Quantum Conundrum. I've played worse games. Far worse. But damn it, Quantum Conundrum was supposed to be really good, and even seemed to be delivering on its potential for a few rooms, and then, suddenly, the puzzle game stops having puzzles in it.
